I had this book as a little girl and vividly remember staying up past my bedtime to read this every night, I loved it so so much and from it sprung my obsession with Arthurian Legends. I’d been looking for a copy for years and finally found this last summer. It’s as perfect as I remember and I’m so grateful to have found it again.
I liked this book because if you read the Jack and Annie books, there's a character called Morgan le Fay in them and she's really nice but in this book we find out that she's really mean to King Arthur. She wants to be Queen and she plays tricks on King Arthur and one of them was when King Arthur was on a boat hunting, Morgan le Fay invited them over to her boat, gave them lots of food to eat so they got really tired and went to sleep and then she put them all in a dungeon. She also tricked King Arthur to fight his friend. In the last chapter all the knights died except for four of them and I didn't know this before I read the book.
A king dies and has a secret son but a wizard takes the baby away. A couple of years later, he goes to a stone and pulls out a sword so he is a king but loads of other people tired and did not pull it out. Later the wizard takes him to a lake and a girl gives him a sword called Excalibur. Then they have a big war and he is about to die. So he told his friends to throw the sword into the lake. A lady took it and vanished then Arthur settled on a boat and vanished. By Seth
Thumbs up for this one for 5 - 6 year old boys. Usborne has a whole series of classics that are geared to easy readers. Nice illustrations and topics that are intriguing to boys. Yayy.
good book for boys or girls who like adventure. an easy to read book about King Arthur and his reign. It starts with how he pulled the sword out of the stone, how he got a sword from the Lady of the Lake, Queen Guinevere and Sir Lancelot, and his death.
