I thoroughly enjoyed this book of stories about life in Somalia. The author is a cousin of a dear friend. Her experiences as a Peace Corp teacher in a small village school made for an entertaining and educational book! I learned a lot about a country I knew very little about.

I LOVED THIS. What an upsetting ending! Man, such a lovely and pragmatic insight to life in old school Somaliland

Since I got this from the library - I decided to read these stories. The first one is very engaging - like the way it's written! I'm ordering it again - I only got through half of it. Very good, yet sad! I learned a lot about the peace corps view of Somalia, a country I didn't know. It's a small book - some chapters are not easy to get through - there are fun. It's very interesting account of a country that has had a violent past!
