BOOKS IN THE OVERRULED SERIES: OverRuled (book 1) OverRun (book 2) OverThrown (book 3)
Author of sweet stories full of hope, heart, and happily-ever-afters.
Brittney and her family live in their own piece of heaven in the Oregon countryside. They stay busy with their menagerie of silly horses, cackling chickens, wooly sheep, and two very naughty goats. When Brittney isn’t writing, she’s riding or reading. And she wishes she could do all three at the same time.

A satisfying ending to this trilogy! Jade grows into her role as Queen and becomes more confident with the help and support of her sister Nova. Nova doesn't really feel comfortable in the palace, or as a Queen, but she unselfishly stays to support Jade and their Kingdom. They grow very close with time, and I really like the ending, when they (and we as readers) learn that "true" love doesn't have to be romantic.
I was a bit dubious about the "suitor trail", since it reminds me of TV shows like "The Bachelor" (never watches things like that). It does play a crucial part in the story, so I accept it, even if I wish it could have been done some other way. I also wish that we gotten to know more about Chael. We only get small pieces of his past, but those pieces are interesting enough to wish for more. Could I ask for at least a short story from Chael's point of view, please?!

I cannot wait to share the conclusion of The OverRuled Series with you! OverThrown will release July 23, 2020... get ready for lots more magic, secrets, and romance. I'm sad to say goodbye to these characters in the final book of the trilogy, but hope you have enjoyed watching Nova and Jade grow. Personally, I think they are both kick-butt heroines. :) I hope you enjoy.
Nova and Jade, you little scallywags, you pulled a fast one on me! But I like it, it was sweet. Sisters forever. JADE, gurlll, there be some scoundrels lurking about. I say, "clean the toilets with them! Off with their heads! Wag your butt in their face!" But hey girl, hey - there's also some candy in the castle, so don't feel too glum, let your magic fingers fly and wear your pretty Princess dress! And tell your sister, she's still crazy, but I like her beat, so keep on roaring. N+C = sigh.
OverThrown was an appropriate ending to this series. Just like the previous books, it was a fast pace and simple read.
I have to say that the first half of the book surprised me. It was definitely not what I was expecting but it ended up working well with the plot. I was not the biggest fan of how close to The Bachelor/Bachelorette those suitor trials were, down to the flowers to indicate their choice in suitors.
But the plot twist! I can say that I could not have predicted that plot twist, definitely not coming from that character. The other character I suspected of foul play, I would have wished for a bit more resolution in terms of finding out why no one trusted him and why he acted so superior to all the other suitors.
I loved getting to know Jade and Nova more in this novel. I enjoyed them before but getting to see their relationship develop was great. I loved that the book ended up focusing on a different type of love than just romantic love.
I loved the message at the end. It is a message that more books should focus on.
Although this is the last book in this series, I think having more books set in the same world would be interesting. I think there may be more magic to explore in this world.

A very satisfying conclusion to the OverRuled series.
*Series spoilers ahead*
Nova and Jade have grown into their power and need to defend Sterling from an impending invasion.
The book begins with Sterling preparing for war and Jade trying to safeguard the Larkspur magic source. While this book is full of action, it takes quite a while to get to the climactic battle. I wish more of the battle was shown and the scenes more fleshed out, but ultimately the book was enjoyable. I liked the growth of both main characters throughout the series. As always, the magic is unique and powerful and the best parts of the story.

OverThrown begins quite differently than the previous two books. As Jade and Nova return to their castle, they have to start looking for a king and produce an heir within two years of being crowned. The first half of the book is a bit of The Bachelor and a reverse The Selection, with 35 royal men arriving in Sterling to try to win the girls' hearts. About halfway through the book, there are some plots twists that make the twins have to battle for each other and their kingdom.
Overall, I thought that OverThrown was an excellent conclusion to the series. I loved how they fulfilled the sequoia's true love requirement. I would definitely recommend this series.
Amazing, simply amazing. I honestly cannot get over how well written and engaging this book (and series) was. The conclusion to Nova and Jade's stories wrapped up so well amidst a heart pounding conflict, twists and turns that make you doubt as well as action and suspense. Needless to say, I loved it. I really did. And I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves YA fantasy - put this at the top of your TBR pile! Note, writing this review to share my thoughts and experiences to the story.
What a wonderful final book in the OverRuled series! I was so glad to grab this and read it to find out what happens!
This book was a quick read for me. As with most books I've read lately, there is lots of action and a satisfying ending! The whole series was a great read and I can't wait to add it to my re-read list!
