I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.

Round Three is a Knockout!

I am REALLY loving this series! The writing is so biting, so rich, so decadent. Full of emotional intelligence, fiery passion, and closets full of skeletons that weave a great story as we go deeper into the human plot of Dom Wars. Add to that- sext challenges and a limo equipped with a driver than can sing, and you're in for an emotional ride!

Our hero shows such vulnerability and wants so desperately for the heroine to trust him with every part of herself. Lucian's hunger for trust that I felt was a character all it's own in Round Two, is still around, but plays a smaller part. Perhaps, satiated in some ways when it comes to gaining Tara's trust and yet still hyper-vigilant in other ways. Interestingly, the trust that is growing between them is often built due to sex. Which is hot, emotional and always surprising.

It was clear to see that Tara's trust is growing, but incrementally. Lucian drinks up every drop of those moments of Tara's walls being down. He thirsts for true intimacy with Tara. Not to be confused with sexual intimacy, which they have in spades. True intimacy means letting the other person see every part of yourself, all of the parts you think are ugly and unsightly. The parts you hide away. Tara is so afraid to pull those parts of herself into the light of day, so afraid that Lucian will reject what he sees. If Tara could only see that her letting him in would quench every, single need in him. Repair the part of HIM that's broken. He would drink her into his soul and never let go. He would protect her with every fiber of his being. He already does.

Denial is a big theme in this book. Tara's denial that the parts of her past still hurt her. She thinks all of her problems are solved because of therapy. But she clearly hasn't done the homework part of therapy. The living, the making amends. Instead, she's put coat after coat of shellac on all of those cracks and Lucian can't let that be. Lucian wants to build what they have together, from the foundation up, brick by brick. A brand new house for Tara to feel safe in and place for him to love her with everything he has. It's my dearest hope that Lucian isn't living in denial, believing that Tara will give him all of herself, if he can just be the man he needs her to be. Does that man even exist? Hopefully, we'll find out in Round Four. I'm certainly rooting for Lucian and Tara. I can't wait!

5 Stars. Wow.... I have been prevaricating about writing this review..... not because I didn't enjoy this round of the series, but because I feel this review exposes a part of me, and that's NOT what this process should be about. It should be about critically reviewing the skill of the writer and his ability to create such life like characters with dynamic and volatile interactions and emotions. But it's not the writers ability to transform his characters into 3D brilliance (which he also does), but his ability to speak to the broken in us all that leaps to the forefront of my mind. The empathy to recognise what makes us human and to his ability to speak the readers emotions and need to be somebody's everything, is at times both devastating and thrilling. This tale is unfolding rapidly, with emotional turbulence that not only strips the heroine 'Tara' of her closely held, subconscious demons, but also strips the reader of breath and the occasional heartbeat. The laugh aloud humour resonates with the reader and feels like something you would normally say, the character reactions spot on, Lucian Bane knows people and human nature and expresses emotion and action with apparent effortless ease and this tale matures and ripens in emotion with each successive Round.

Dom Wars Round 3 by Lucian Bane is freaking phenomenal!! Wish I could give it more stars, baby.
This round begins the Demon Domination Challenge and Tara is up to battle her demons first. Now, since she spent all those years in therapy, she's confident this challenge will be a breeze. Luckily, Lucian knows that she hasn't even begun to battle the ghosts that haunt her soul. So he's determined to be there, right by her side, whether she wants him there or not, to fight with her. Round 3 delves deep into the very fears that keeps us imprisoned and chained to past regrets and heartaches as humans. Sometimes facing those demons can seem an insurmountable challenge. Sometimes though, if we're very very lucky, we find someone who is willing to help us face them, fight them, and find the strength within ourselves to lay them to rest, once and for all. Sometimes it just takes that one person, the right person, who loves you enough and believes that you're worth fighting for, to take your hand and lead you into the ring. Tara may not realize it at first, but that person has found her, and there's no way he's letting her lose this battle. Cause Lucian Bane isn't afraid to slay a few demons in the name of love and that's what makes him her true hero and a real Ineffable Dom, baby.

3.5 stars for me, for this one.

Well I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others. Anytime you take a trip to the south and run into an older, wiser, black man... you are also bound to find a way to come off as somewhat stereotypical. I'm really not sure if there is a way to write that kind of character without making some of us cringe a little. It wasn't awful, or offensive, I'm just stating the facts.

Tara got on my very LAST nerve in this one. I get that she is trying to put on a brave face and that she was trying not to show emotion. However, Lucian is nothing but wonderful to her and does everything possible to give her the support that she needs to get through it all. It takes her most of the fucking book to actually allow herself to express some real freaking emotions. I don't like that the only time she feels able to let her guard down is during the smoking hot, delicious sex that these two engage in. That's the equivalent of that guy that only tells you he loves you when he's balls deep in you and getting ready to come. It's just not cool!

As stated Lucian was wonderful. The way he broke her down was mmm, mmm, good. As always there is never a dull day in Dom Wars. So even with the elements that I didn't care for too much this time around I still greatly enjoyed it. On to the next!

Quotage: "The second she got what she wanted, she turned, her smiling face instantly hardening into the cold mask of a serial killer. God. Damn."

I enjoyed the connection to Tara as she bravely faced her demons in this round. She opened herself up to the truth in order to free herself and Lucian was right there beside her as a solid rock and foundation of strength. His continued protection and devotion is slowly eroding the thick walls she builds between them. As always the trust these two have in one another gives us hope for better relationships and communication within them. Also if you want a bit of spice in your amorous escapades, pick this one up!

He tasted like warm safety might smell. ~Tara
I think women everywhere would love this bottled up. Can't wait to move on to Round 4. Well done Lucian Bane.

I finished this book last night and then stared into space waiting for sleep to take me or for this book to sink in, whichever came first. Neither happened. This morning I’m still staring at my laptop screen. Waiting to come to some sort of conclusion. Waiting to isolate one overarching theme or feeling that was elicited. But I can’t. This book is messy and frustrating and heartbreakingly tender at moments. This book is the mother of all tug-of-wars.

Round 3 picks up two days after Round 2 finished. All continuing Dom Wars contestants were given two days to go home, take care of personal business and ramp their energy back up for the next round – Demon Domination.

Tara begins this book anxiety-ridden, desperately trying to keep her game face on all while doing everything in her power to knock in a giant wedge between the two of them. Lucian, however, has come ready to wage war. He knows exactly what he wants and has a damn good idea of what he’s going to have to do in order to get her.

The first two books were riddled with anticipation. This book was rife with tension. Constant, unrelenting tension. The kind that makes your muscles ache from being held so rigid and that saps all of your energy in the blink of an eye.

To say that Tara is mercurial is potentially the biggest understatement of all time. She has encased herself so completely in armor composed of hundreds of hours of therapy, absolute raw strength and cold detachment. She simply will not allow anything to touch her. Because to touch her puts her at risk for abandonment and more pain and after so much already, she’s put her foot down and will not allow it anymore. Period.

Lucian, however, becomes an absolute magician in finding the chinks in her armor. He’s able to infiltrate her defenses before she even knows what he’s doing. He will not be dissuaded, he will not be distracted, he’s a man on a mission. Once again he is able to demonstrate the difference between sharing your entire being with another person versus just sharing pieces. While Tara can give willingly of her mind or her body or her emotions, Lucian is able to pave the way to connect it all together and show her how to walk as one, completely balanced, perfectly intertwined human being. And that? That is magic at the very highest level.

There’s a tremendous amount of orchestration in this book, which potentially accounts for some of the tension. But without Lucian playing architect to the bigger picture, this relationship, this competition, this book wouldn’t work. Because there would be no movement, no progress, and with ghosts as big as Tara’s and a love as deep as Lucian’s, stasis would kill them both.

Lucian Bane continues to assert himself as a master craftsman in his storytelling, lacing humor through the incredible tension and aching tenderness through the delicious sex scenes that leave characters and reader alike flayed open and raw. He just keeps upping the ante with each book.

The circumstances that brought Tara and Lucian together may have been this competition, but it’s never been a game and this book drives that point home. The stakes are painfully high and by the end of this book, they are both playing for keeps.

Lucian Bane's latest installment is exquisite to say the least. His prose is tantalizing, and it gives birth to visual imagery unlike any other. Well, at least for myself, with an illustrious imagination and any of Lucian's books a woman is sure to come back from a marvelous trip into the beautiful mind of the Ineffable Dominant. A place any female would love to be, and this book definitely does not disappoint. Although it may leave you extremely wanton, and begging with need.

Simply magnifique.

Dom Wars is continuing. Tara and Lucian have made it to the next round, a round where Tara is forced to deal with the demons of her past, and the ones that she thinks she has already conquered. But she is soon going to find out that the hours of therapy didn’t do a damn thing.

So this series... I was on the fence at the start of the series and after two installments I think this one left me a bit more on the side of wondering if I’ll continue on. There is nothing wrong with the writing, it is just that I am having a hard time connecting to Tara and Lucian.

When it comes to Tara, I find myself beginning to dislike her so much. There aren’t really a lot of redeeming qualities that I can latch onto. For Lucian, he’s a sweet guy and although his Dom role is more in the way he needs to care for and protect Tara, I am finding it hard to get into this because I miss that alpha-ness that typically comes along with a read in this genre. I get the D/s thing is far deeper than just kinky sex but the whole concept of some of these ‘games’ they are enduring just keeps putting me off a bit. I was contemplating after finishing this one if I was going to get part four. I think I can give this one more shot, maybe there is something in Lucian’s past that will surface and change the way I feel – not sure if there is any hope for me when it comes to Tara... but maybe if Lucian can sway me a bit in the other direction, this series can be salvaged for me.

The story continues to amaze and delight. This round is an emotional journey from beginning to end. Lucian and Tara continue to go through the next round of Dom Wars on their way to the prize. Each one fighting each step of the way. This is a great series with talented writing. I highly recommend that you take the time to read this series.

I was waiting so impatiently for this story to continue ....and round three did not disappoint. This was an emotional ride from beginning to end. When I thought I couldn't fall any harder for Lucian....I did...he proceeded to knock down wall after wall to reach Tara. Lucian Bane is truly a gifted writer. I could feel the emotions radiating off the page. If you want a great story with pathos and raw emotions this is the series you must read. I can't wait for the next round. Bravo Lucian!!!!!!!

Dom Wars Round Three continues where Round Two ends. The next challenge is for Tara to face her Demons. As they begin this challenge of course Tara hides behind her in control façade. She continues to fight her feelings for Lucian. She feels if she gives into them then she will lose focus on why she is there.

Lucian continually lets Tara know that he loves her and wants to help her to break down the wall that she has built up to keep him out. We continue to see that Lucian is not one of the typical Doms that you have read in other books. He is one who knows how to be in control and also to give over his control to Tara as well. They both have to be willing to give all of themselves to each other. Lucian has continually tried to demonstrate how to be both the Dom and Sub for Tara to understand what she needs to do in order to gain points for her to win. But Tara doesn't take Lucian's hints of how to be either Dom or Sub.

Lucian is supportive in Tara's Demon challenges. Unfortunately Tara does not realize what she needs to truly do to dominate her demons. They seem to do well with the sextexts with the random acts they must do but with the challenges Tara seems to have an issue with each demon domination. Lucian has to take things in his own hands to help Tara to face her demons head on.

I would recommend this book but after reading the first two rounds. You will see that Lucian is trying to educate Tara into realizing her Dom and Sub side and that in order to be a good Dom that you must be able to be a good sub as well. A great read!

Saying this was an emotional rollercoaster is a huge understatement! I'm still reeling from the first two rounds and it doesn't look like I am going to stop any time soon. Lucian has this way of pulling you in and not letting you go. Demanding you to listen and to understand what he is conveying. Always dominating you! Round 4 can't come soon enough!! Hats off to you Mr. Bane. Job well done again. Never doubted it for a moment.

SO Round 3..I am already so emotionally invested in these books as well as Lucian and Tara. In this round we had to face Tara's Demons..yes I said We. Tara is a bit stubborn and thinks she can do this alone, she doesn't want to need Lucian, she doesn't want to seem like it is tearing her apart inside. But she does and it is.

What did Lucian think of that :
"I got you, love," I rubbed my face along hers and pressed her as tight as I could to my body. "You're mine. You're safe" It was my promise to her, and my declaration of war on whatever demons that dared keep her from me.~Lucian Bane

Tara still continued to go at it alone and appear to be unaffected and
Lucian as you know was having None.OF.It. He wanted to fight them for her.
"I intend to take your fucking denial. If I have to keep you tied up all fucking day and night. I'm going to strip you down. Until you are drowning in pain and betrayal, until there is nothing left but the blood in your past, and me. Saving you" ~Lucian Bane

Now you may know that they struggle a little with D/s role and they ultimately play switch. But Lucian Bane is a Dom Lucian is going to cherish and protect his lady no matter what they must face.

"I'm here all the way. Right next to you." She pressed her head into my shoulder. "I'm your rear guard, love. Your shield. Nothing will hurt you. "I Stroked her head and kissed it. "Let me fight with you baby."

Now by this round you are as emotionally invested in this as me, Lucian & Tara. We, yes I said we, have a come a long way to get here. We have had to deal with some moments that were not so pretty, then some that turned pretty sweet. We got to get closer to Steve and all of his awesomeness.

But that's enough of me telling you everything that happened. This book is well written, so to the point I can almost hear them talking. I have been with them so long I almost know what it is they will do next. There was a part in here that I was so emotionally wrecked over..I mean I was crying for both of them and each of them but it had to be done. I think that is what finally brought Tara into my good graces. I know that they joke about both of them being Doms and switch things up in the bedroom but Lucian is THE Dom. To give himself so freely..a sacrifice that big it is the ultimate act of submission...and before you can DOMINATE ANYTHING you have to SUBMIT to EVERYTHING.

So It is Relentless Book Chic approved! If you love romance, humor, sex, and a little bit of something extra you will love this book.

Round 3 has been delivered by Lucian Bane in Gold Liquid form, It drips, love, raw lust, amazing sex, emotion like no other.

This is a 5* amazing read for me, it amazes me the quality of writing he bring. And it kind of saddens me that I'm half way through this series. Lucian has certainly taken us on a rollercoaster. Once again Lucian Bane knows no bounds with his expression, art, creativity and simplicity of his writing. The simple fact is he speaks and writes from his heart. How he feels about women, Tara in particular, how he KNOWS women should be treated, and how he wants to be treated by a woman, he knows what he wants and what Tara wants and he delivers it in Gold Liquid form.

Round 3 is all about Demon Domination, for Tara. She must face up to demons from her past, it cuts through to feel what she must be going through, the torment she is going through and Lucian feels every bit of it with her. The love he has for her he can't push aside his feeling of torment aside as he loves her so much. Tara thinks she faces these demons head on, but doesn't realise in his own form, Lucian is guiding her, he is right by her side, every step of the way. Either in emotion, or holding her hand he goes through it all with her.

Excerpt:- ''I'm your rear guard, Love. Your shield. Nothing will hurt you.'' I stroked her head and kissed it. ''Let me fight with you baby''.

The relationship between the two of them is stronger like no other, and it is a relief that Tara is starting to come to terms with her feelings for Lucian. And he begins to accept why she builds the wall up against her, but he makes sure the wall isn't too high that he can still break it down, or jump across it. He will not let anything come between the two of them.

Once again the 'scenes' between them both are HOT, I don't mean warm or tepid I mean full on RED FLAMING HOT. Lucian worships Tara from head to toe, he wants to draw her in, devour her, feel her and own her. But he wants Tara to own him, he is willing to give himself over in whole. He has no trouble at all in submitting to her, and that is the INEFFABLE DOM in him. That is what makes Lucian a true man, a true DOM.

Can Tara face up to Demon Domination..... One click this book and find out.

And in this corner.... Round three starts and Tara has to face her demons in challenges specifically designed for her. Denial is the name of the game here. She feels she's already conquered her demons with her many hours of therapy and this is in the bag! Oh my, trouble is ahead. Lucian sees she never really confronted them as she thinks she has and could possibly be an obstacle going through the challenges. He wants her to open up and trust him so he can help her but she doesn't. She doesn't want to address anything. Little by little she is realizing that she could use his help and they can come up with a way to go forward by working together. The only time she lets her vulnerability show is during their sexcapades. She truly forgets who she is and just feels. But if she allows him to see the real her, he won't like all the ugliness there. Lucian, on the other hand, does want to see her like that-raw. He loves that he makes her mask slip and vows to get her to trust in him and to not to deny who she really is. Tara sees that as a potential weakness so she tries to keep that mask on and stay focused on the task at hand. I loved how attentive Lucian is throughout her challenges. He truly tries to make her realize that he doesn't really have an ulterior motive. Yes he wants to win, but he just really wants to win her. How he has to push her to the breaking point and suffer the consequences after is very well written. It is a game shift and we will have to see how it pans out in the next book. Book 4 is on Lucian's demons and we can only guess what is in store for us! Bring it on!

You will laugh, cry, get angry, and your heart will break for Lucian and Tara as they face tougher, more emotional challenges.

Until now I have been on the fence about Tara. Do I like her, do I not? In this round I choose my side, I really begin to like her. In Rounds 1 and 2 the challenges were more about getting to know one another, and building some trust. In Round 3, it is ALL about Demon Domination. Tara is the first one to have to face the demons of her past with Lucian and their chaperone Steve along for the ride. Tara is all about being self-sufficient, relying on no one, and doing things HER way. Can Tara learn to trust Lucian enough to let him her? Will the demons of Tara's past destroy their chance at winning the competition, at earning the $1 million dollar prize, and their chance at happiness, or will Lucian's love be enough to save her? Over and over throughout the series Lucian has told and showed Tara that he loves her....can it be enough?

I read this book in one sitting, just as I have the other two books in the Dom Wars series. The series gets better and hotter with each new installation. As HOT as Round 3 is, Round 4 is going to be explosive.

Now, I get to TRY to patiently wait for Round 4. If you haven't read them, read them. I promise you will not be sorry. DO NOT let yourself be put off by the idea of the BDSM, Dom/Sub relationship nature of the story. Lucian Bane's brilliant writing takes the story MUCH DEEPER. He draws you into the story, you become invested in the lives of Lucian and Tara, in their struggles, their failures and their wins. I wish there was the option to give this story more than 5 stars.
