Sold to the Italian Mafia Boss is a spicy arranged marriage romance between an Italian Mafia Boss and a woman who is just his match.
Regardless of what he thought in his inner monologue or the way she clung to certain actions as “protecting her”, he treated her like the dirt under his shoe for 80% of the book. Even letting his men put their hands on her and bruise her several times, let people talk shit about her, and paraded her in front of HER associate like she was nothing but three holes and a womb. His inner monologue tries to make it seem like he’s growing to care for her, but he does absolutely nothing to make up for any of that until magically a switch flips in the last chapter and suddenly he’s besotted. Also how the hell does he keep losing to this chick?? Useless MMC all around. The FMC is delusional and she fell for him because he was good in the sack and did 100% purely selfish, self-serving things that she deluded herself into think was for her.
This was an interesting adventure book more than a romance. Great female lead who is canny and capable. Insecure male lead constantly trying to punish and push away female lead. If you want to do an alpha hole male lead, fine. But this ain’t it.
I loved Kate, she is actually really well written, strong and independent. Although she does give into him a little too quickly after he forced her to marry him.
Luca is awful, their first meeting he pretty much let’s his driver killer her and it is only shear will and strength that she manages to fight Dome off. Luca then let’s the driver Dome abuse and injure her more….. Luca doesn’t get much better throughout either and he comes across as fairly weak and easy to manipulate
The book hits the mark on how it feels to be a woman in a man’s world and how it is an uphill battle sometimes just to be acknowledged.
I love Mafia romance 😍. I'm not sure I have read this author before, but I will again.. In the beginning I wasn't sure that the MMC could be redeemed. Lucas was an ass quite a bit, although most of em start that way. But he did come through by the end.. I was a great story with great characters. I think it needs to be edited again as there was quite a few spots where word was missing or misused. I really enjoyed this book. It was hard to put down. I'm looking forward to more.
Overall an ok read. I loved how feisty and kick ass Kate was. Luca had potential but fell kind of flat as an alphahole. The chemistry between them was good af the beginning but then I felt like it tapered off. They barely spent time with each other, had two anger filled f*cks, and then they're in love. I didn't buy it. I wanted a bit more expansion of Luca and Kate reuniting after he was shot and finds out she was pregnant, but it jumps right to the baby being born. By the end the characters didn't connect to the story any more.
Kate has to marry Luca. She's thought she was going to a meeting to help with information, but she is taken instead. He soon realises that she's a smart business woman and can be used to his advantage. Together they have to come to an agreement, especially because they have family members involved.
This was different but a good difference. I absolutely love that Kate is not like most mafia daughters, and she knew how to get things done. Luca, of course, was just like any man and wouldn't admit to his feelings till it was almost too late, but they always seem to get their act together
At first, I didn't particularly Luca. They way he treated Kate was not something I was expecting from an H. However, the plot was great and gripping. Kate was not a simpering mafia princess. She was strong, confident, and truly an equal to Luca in every way. Highly recommended
This book was a great read, it was a hard for me to put down. There were twist and turns that I really wasn’t expecting through the whole book. A must read! I can't wait to read more.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
i’m not gonna lie i loved the characters and depth within them but the ending was so fast and quick i just wish there was more but other then that it was actually not as predictable compared to the other books in this authors Mafia series so far
I was confused probably more that half the time. Idk if I read too fast or somehow skipped important parts, but plot and dialogs often seemed random, repetitive and plainly confusing to me.
I just don’t get how they fell in love? Maybe it was because this was so short, but this felt like they didn’t like each other for most of the book and then boom. Love.
It’s not what you normally expect from a mafia romance. A lot of mafia romance book thrive on plot and angst alone. But this one thrives on the writing itself. So so deliciously good. The plot is so simple, the twists and turns very manageable. But the way it was weaves through words make it such an easy and delightful read
This book series is so bad. It’s a little bit funny but it’s not funny because it sucks so I’m probably gonna drop it after this book but he just treats her like shit for like most of the book and at the end is like is this what Love feels like I was just trying to protect her bitch shut up kill yourself leave me alone like I don’t wanna listen.
