Simon Taylor is Safety Officer of the Seduction of the Sea Cruise Ship, and saves a woman who falls overboard in a storm. Little does he know that this woman is about to show up in his hometown of Sweet Water, Michigan and make big waves.
Piper Westbrook doesn't expect to see her savior from the cruise ship when she is sent by her father to close down the marina on Thunder Lake. But when Simon shows up and she realizes the job she's been sent to do will affect not only his whole family but the entire town, a storm brews between them that only an experienced sailor would know how to ride out.
Can a man with a strong passion for sailing convince a woman who fears water to see through his eyes before it's too late, or will a whirlwind romance be blown away and washed out to sea by one wrong decision?

Good story about two people who feel instant attraction, but are at cross-purposes regarding a tired, struggling marina. Lots of angst and soul-searching along with romance. I received an ARC of this book.
Simon Taylor, one of the twelve Taylor brothers has some inner demons he has a hard time taming. Ex Navy officer and lover of the water, he had taken a job as a safety officer on a cruise ship. Piper Westbrook was on the ship with her father, hoping to get closer to him and help him with his work. When she unexpectedly falls overboard trying to save a camera, it seems her life just might end. But Simon saw it happened and rescued her and really saved her life! What really got him riled was the way her father treated her, even after almost drowning. Yep, he loved women and only wanted to protect every one who was treated badly by men. Piper was one of them. Oh yes, I'd say there was an attraction too! How could she not when this hunk of a man had saved her life! Of course the two end up together again when she comes to his hometown looking at the marina that he father might want to buy. The town would be up in arms and it needed to stay with the locals! Such a great story of Simon who is really a great guy, but has some issues he tries hard to deal with and Piper, who does herself, always trying to please her father. As the two spend time together, can they possibly heal each other and find a forever love together? Love this series and these brothers and I know you will too!
I’m giving this two stars because the concept was good. But that’s about it.
I’ve been trying to get through this series. I just can’t. The things people say in these books are just not believable at all. I get that it’s a book and an escape but really…. The way the speech is written is too stiff. I wanted to finish this series but I need to take a break. Simon is by far the worst written and most under developed characters yet and I had such high hopes for him.
If you like pearl clutching smut or wholesome smut, the kind with lots of ‘made love all night’ and minimal steam, something your grandma may have read from Harlequin in the 70s if it was written by a teenager, this is your series. If you don’t care for poorly written banter between characters, stay away!
well another great story from a series that is about 12 brothers that had different talents and dreams. This story has a small town and a tight family setting, that is important to this story, Simon had a dream of living and working by water, he is happy near any water and he finds peace on a boat of any kind. while doing what he loves he comes to save a girl that has felling over board. Piper is a girl that is use to doing what she must to keep her father happy and she puts with him treating her bad. Simon temper gets him trouble and it might just cost him the future that he wants. This book has family, love and a girl that is going to save Simon even from his self.
Another in the Tarnished Saints series. This was a simple and easy read. Piper was used to be controlled by her father and did not struggle day to day. I loved how she learned there were better ways to live and things to live for. Simon had his problems to overcome and was a bit selfish at times, but he also grew to figure out what was most important in life. Family was a big thing in this series, and this continued on this story, showing how family makes us stronger.
Simon and Pippa were quite an interesting couple. I find their personalities to be quite well-developed and unique, especially when compared to the other brothers and their wives. I liked the developments in Pippa's relationship with her father, and like that they are mentioned again in further volumes. I guess this volume shows that sometimes women are attracted to men with similar attributes as their fathers or grandfathers.
One of the more original installments in the Tarnished Saints Series, I enjoyed it very much. The picture on the cover doesn't hurt, either.
Saving Simon: Simon saved a very beautiful woman when fell overboard. He could stop worrying about her after he rescued her. Her father was another story! He didn't like him and all he cared about was his business and what his next acquisition. Simon went home after his cruise job to take a break see his family. Simon knew Thad was ready to go home and Simon made a promise to his mother that he would take of his little brother. When he got back to Sweetwater he never stopped thinking about Pippa. Great story and a hot romance!
Simon is the hothead of the family, he gets especially angry when he feels like a woman is being mistreated. When he saves Piper after she falls off of the cruise ship he is working on and her father doesn't even act like he cares she almost drowned, he is determine to save her from him. Another wonderful story by Elizabeth Rose.
Enjoyed this book for a second time. I knew I had read it after a few page but couldn't put it down. Remembered the ended but not how it came about. Easy fast reading and still full of suprises the second time around.
But so is Piper the girl of his dreams. Simon has a lot to work out with his behavior and his family. Piper has a lot to work out with her own family. A good story about overcoming fears and beliefs.
This book was great. The characters and the storyline was definitely challenging. Simon and Piper are great for each other. She is a healing balm to Simons anger issues. They are going to be alright, I can feel it in my heart.
This guy was so considering and loving that it was hard
To figure him out. But in the end he was just a protector of women. I loved how he kept his promise to his mom. Also keeping his little brother safe. As well as his mom secret.
I really enjoyed this addition to the tarnished saints series. It's quite refreshing to find hero's who aren't absolutely perfect. I haven't read all the preceding books but they are stand alone so it doesn't seem to detract from the series. I would recommend this book and the series in general.
Simon Taylor was born to ride the seas, his brothers even joke he has a pirate face when he is on the water. Simon is a dedicated sailor with a penchant for rescuing damsels in distress. He does not like to see a women mistreated and has no problem educating the offender in the error of their ways. Piper Westbrook loves her father but is tired of his controlling ways. Piper never meant to be a damsel in distress but fate had a plan and Simon needed a new focus. Simon is our tormented tarnished saint, he is fighting an inner demon and it has shaped the man he has become. Deceiving Piper is not his intent but he wants her to see his home through new eyes and want her to help protect it not destroy it. This story seemed to be a turning point for the Taylor clan. No one understands the torment Simon is dealing with and typical brother rivalry just adds fuel to the fire burning inside him. His personal struggles add depth to the storyline and some incite to life growing up as one of the twelve apostles. I found Piper to be some what disappointing at first but enjoyed watching her grow as character and find the strength to do the right thing. The sailor and the mermaid, The sinner and the saint and opposites attract. Sometimes it only takes a little bit of polish to save a Tarnished saint.
