At first, it seemed to introduce the next letter through an important word in the sentence before, but it lagged off, which was disappointing. I thought it was so clever at first!

This alphabet book with rhymes is also engineered with some cool textures--from a soft puppy to some smooth shiny fish scales, there are lots of things that kids can touch. I don't have kids, but I'm wondering if the book would be easier to handle if it were smaller--it seems like the size might be prohibitive for a baby to page through it very easily themselves. On the other hand, it might work well for spreading out on the floor and letting them have at it--I don't know. It just seems like it would be awkward for them to lift themselves. I like it that it's a board book, though, because they are way more durable, especially for the kind of handling that a book like this would get. Finally, it features photos of children from a lot of different ethnic backgrounds, which is pretty cool. It's good to get babies used to seeing other babies who might not look like they do.

Stacy's elementary school students gave her this book as a gift. It is not something that I would pick out myself because it's a little too traditional seeming. However, it's actually a very good book. It uses colors and texture (the bear's ear is fuzzy, for example, and the puppy's fur is a soft felt-like material) and a lot of close up photos of children's faces, which kids love to look at. Plus, it was selected by kids and they apparently know what the younger set likes these days. :)

This ABC/touch and feel book is great for toddlers. The book shows an object that starts with each letter, and several pages have some sort of texture that the child can explore. Some textures are soft like the down on the ducklings and others are more rough like the seeds on the strawberries. I also like that the last word in the second sentence rhymes with the last word in the previous sentence.

This is another AWESOME touch and feel book - lots of textures. And the great part is that its educational too - it's an alphabet book. However, probably my favorite part is probably the fact that it already has rhymes about each picture incorporated into the book, so I didn't have to make any up for this one. Devin is really intrigued by this one, it was definitely a winner.

This book has bright, clear, easy to recognize pictures for every letter of the alphabet. On each two page spread, one of the two pages has something to "touch and feel".
The book has rhyme and a nice flow as they name a letter, an object, and give one descriptive sentence about that object.

I LOVE this book. It is such a great alphabet book, and better than the rest. I love the rhythm and the rhyme. I would highly recommend parents of very young children, to have this book on your shelf, or to give as a gift.

This book has fascinated my daughter since birth. First she loved the feel and textured pages and the mirror. Now she's 17 months and is identifying the letters and pictures, the beginning of reading. It is her favorite book hands down... She cries when she's done!!!

Mommy says this is a great book. The letter rhymes feel more unique than a lot of alphabet books, but are predictable enough she doesn't have to think too hard to read. I find something neat to touch on almost every page. This is one of my favourite books!

This board book incorporates textures with illustrations to teach babies the letters of the alphabet. There are simple rhymes to go along with the pictures, as well.

This touch-and-feel book is fun all around although the little man would love it to be a touch-and-feel-and-gnaw-upon.

This book is my go-to gift for anyone with children. I began reading it to my kids when they were three months old. The sensory places of yarn, sandy spots, felt, sparkles, and mirrors are fun to rub little feet or hands against. I have gifted and used this precious book over the years. I have a library of children's books, but this is the standout!

I thought there were better alphabet books out there but R LOVED this when he was little and picked it up all the time before he could talk. It was especially his daddy’s go to bedtime read.

1) No awards
2) Age 3 months-3 years
3) B is for Bear is a hard cover book that can help children learn their abc's. The pages each have a different letter on it that consists of a soft furry feel. The letter is represented by an animal so that children can connect letters to words.
4) I think this is a great book for young children to learn the alphabet. It will keep them interested and interactive with the book because of the furry feeling of the letters. It can benefit children in several ways, for example learning the names of different animals.
5) This book can be used for children to learn the alphabet. It can also be used to relate different objects to different letters. It can be read in the beginning of the day and placed in an area where children have access to.
