Faith and romance can work out.
I enjoyed this book. Nash, a master, keeps his faith and bible learning even though he is well off. He is somewhat frugal about his money but treats his servants well. His pushy girlfriend presses for a marriage date which he repeatedly refuses. Becca becomes employed and almost fired in same day in his house. He recognizes her if a poor girl selling matches He helped years before. She took this job too avoid a marriage her father wanted. Becca has a very large family and father feels she must help support them. He proposes quickly, very to my taste. She accepts and begins training to become a proper lady. The girlfriend, Helen, returns to town and still refuses she has been replaced. Becca's father is given a new chance to help his family with the Masters help. I feel more could been said on this as Becca still returned home nightly to care for many younger children and pregnant mother. Her strong faith reminds her to be thankful daily. I feel in real life there would be more sickness, issues with that large poor family with a unemployed Father. I think Nash should of made him work toward the goal of a new start instead of just giving it too him. But his generosity helped the siblings and pregnant mother, as he was taught by his deceased parents. Her kidnapping was a surprise twist for the ending.
