Sue Haynes taught students in a variety of educational settings in Maine including preschool, elementary school, high school, and college. With Masters degrees in Special Education and Literacy, she delighted in empowering at-risk, often highly creative learners who didn’t fit the mold of standardized education. These experiences led her to write her first book, Creative Mavericks: Beacons of Authentic Learning. In 2020, she and her Masters in Literacy mentor, Phyl Brazee, published a book of teacher stories which celebrate the power of promoting self-agency in all learners.

Sue’s interests include networking with like-minded teachers about authentic teaching and learning, listening to audiobook novels, studying non-dual metaphysical teachings, and connecting online with spiritual buddies, friends, and family. She now resides in Tucson, Arizona.
