Benjamin Franklin was a writer, a philosopher, a scientist, a politician, a patriot, a Founding Father, an inventor, and publisher. He helped with the founding of the United States of America and changed the world with his discoveries about electricity. His writings such as Poor Richards' Almanac have provided wisdom for 17 years to the colonies.
My best friend’s grandpa recommended it to me. I love advice given in the form of literature. The ending sentence: “A great part of the miseries of mankind are brought upon them by the false estimates they have made of the value of things by giving too much for their whistle.” Only 5 pages but I’ll keep this story on a shelf of my mind for life and pass it on.
