I might have rated this more highly if I'd had the/a book explaining the basic principles of M:TG and basic strategy about what to play first, etc. It did offer gameplay strategies but felt gobbledy-gooky while reading them because I don't have the basics. I understand the very basic vocabulary, but need that first hurdle or two discussed in detail before I leap to where this book is. Maybe they wrote a book that covers what I'm looking for. Back to the drawing board...

Strategic insight into a group of Magic the Gathering cards and their combos. There was a dearth of this type of material at the time of publication, and any book such as this was a welcome addition to the players library.
