Thank you, Open Library, for allowing me to relive this more obscure memory of my childhood. TINKA BAKES A CAKE was one of those "quick" books we'd read when I kept wheedling for "one more story!" I knew those Minecraft characters I keep seeing around reminded me of something...now I realize it was the design of Tinka and her robot pals.

Vegan parents note: Tinka buys a carton of eggs for her cake...one of the parts of the story involve the eggs being broken and Tinka having to buy more.

Awesome beautiful story from my childhood. Simple and cute stories with great blocky art. Part of the Tink Tonk Tale series, others are:
Tuk takes a Trip
Tink goes fishing
Teep and Beep go to sleep
(And a few others I think)

I just learned they were by Mercer Mayer.

Out of print, some in the series are available for $10-20, this one seems to be $60.
