Aristotle: Political Philosophy

Rate this book
This book offers a systematic overview of Aristotle's conception of well-being, virtue and justice in the Nicomachean Ethics, and then explores the major themes of Politics: civic-mindedness, slavery, family, property, the common good, class conflict, the limited wisdom of the multitude, and the radically egalitarian institutions of the ideal society.

This book is enlightening and instructive. This is a very careful piece of scholarship. Arguments are laid out nicely and clearly. However, it is a bit too ponderous and repetitive - but these are not the worst qualities of a piece of scholarship to have. It's a highly competent and readable guide to Aristotle's Politics, and it has helped me grasp that text a bit more.

Do not read this book, I feel scammed, maybe now 2000 years was great but now all those words looks like cheap philosophy...
