This book surprised me in how much I liked it.

It's sorted by injury, so that you can use it as a reference book.
It has quick tables with the injury, prescription to get better, taking steps to prevent the injury from happening.
Each chapter then has case studies of different runners and how their injury progressed and what the end result was. This gives a human element to the medical information.

The beginning chapter goes over shoes, which I think can be very helpful in knowing what sort of shoe is for which foot.

It was interesting to see running from a podiatrist perspective

Great resource. Used it for injury prevention ideas after athletes were released from athletic trainers care.

Having some degree of understanding on how the body works and experiencing some of these injuries yourself or through teammates is essential in getting the most out of this book. Being familiar with a number of topics made it more manageable to develop an understanding of new concepts and solidify your knowledge on what is already out there. Perhaps the most valuable parts of this book are the stories of athletes getting injured, they go to show it can happen to anyone. This makes any and all injuries that much more real while educating the reader on how to work to decrease the changes of obtaining the many harmful obstacles that are in the sport that aren't given their proper due.

Good information about the physiology(not sure if that is the right word) of running and why and how injuries happen. Went into quite a bit of depth about the most common types of injures and how to avoid them. Sometimes I thought there was almost too much information.

Super fun, well written and quick read. I'm new to running and currently experiencing some knee woes, but this book gave me some good pointers that should make my experience better. Good intro book.
