This book is entertaining but reads like a transcript of a podcast. It kind of is. The podcast is great, it doesn't really work as a book.

Absolutely love William and Jordan and their podcast (I'm a dedicated G&Diva) but being completely honest I feel this book's content is aimed more towards youngsters than settled people in their age group. A lot of repeated content and references from the podcast that is (although very funny) nothing new. It's a sweet book and glad I've got a signed copy.

While I love the podcast and both William and Jordan. The book form very quickly loses the magic of the podcast. Unfortunately the book seems to also be aimed at 18-22 year old university students which I’m guessing is only a minority of their actual fans.

3.5 stars rounded up.

I came across these guys while I was strolling reels on Instagram. I ended up binging and going through a lot of their reels and then subscribed to the podcast which I really enjoy.

It shouldn't work, but it does. An etiquette expert and... well what is Jordon? I guess he would be classed as a "celebrity" in the UK.
Being from Australia, I had never heard of either of them. But now they are one of my favourite listens on the way to work.

I am glad I got the audio version of this, although slightly dry at times, it was like listening to friends and gave me a lot of laughs. It just wasn't quite like their podcast by way of natural conversation, but it was still entertaining!

I wouldn’t say that it’s life changing advice but it was an enjoyable read and good reminders on how to handle situations.

After the long awaited 9 month wait, I finally got my hands on this brilliant book! As a very loyal G&Diva, my review is likely biased but I honestly thoroughly enjoyed the read. As I read along I could hear William & Jordans voices bickering in my head which really made some moments laugh out laugh funny. If you just happened to stumble across the Sexted book but haven't listened to the podcast, I HIGHLY recommend you go and give it ago. You won't be disappointed 😌

I’ve enjoyed the podcast in the past so thought I would give this a go. The format doesn’t quite translate well. It needs the back and forth of a podcast to bring the stories and advice to live. This felt too prescriptive and therefore didn’t work. It’s a shame, but should be a lesson to podcasts who want to translate their content into books.

I love the podcast so much so was so excited to listen to the book. It’s fine, funny and enjoyable in parts but lacks the spontaneous chat and jokes that makes the podcast so great.

This was okaaay, their podcast is much better and this is basically a dryer version/transcript of that.

I listened to the audiobook because I absolutely adore the podcast and am a G&Diva, but I was a bit disappointed by how overly scripted it felt. I know it’s literally scripted since it’s a book, but still - it just felt a bit jarring. It seemed to lack their usual witty banter, and since I’ve listened to all the podcast episodes, some parts felt repetitive.

That being said, I love William and Jordan, always enjoy their unique perspectives, and found this book easy to listen to. I’m also glad to have a signed copy of the book!

Not my usual type of book but have become a new listener and HUGE fan of the podcast over the past few months. I loved how the book reflected both Jordan and William’s personalities perfectly. First time I’ve ever laughed out loud while reading a book. A super fun book that I enjoyed reading and I am now a full G&Diva!

This was a genuinely funny read, but because the concept came from a podcast, it felt a little stilted? Jarred? It just didn't flow in the way I thought it might.
That being said, I did get a fair few chuckles...and learned some etiquette history, so happy days!

I'm a big fan of the podcast and was super excited when the book came out! Luckily, it was my Mum's book club book so she got a copy which I was able to pinch from her when she was done (she doesn't listen to the podcast so I doubt it made sense to her), and in short... I loved this book! Was a lovely addition to a super cool podcast.

William and Jordan give us a breakdown of life, answering common qualms and write-ins from various aspects of life. From night outs, to job interview to love life shenanigans, William and Jordan offer their unsolicited takes and advice along with insights into their own life experiences.

If you're a fan of the podcast, you'll definitely love the book. I felt like a categoried form of the podcast; if all the different qualms they'd answered over the years were categorised and added to a reference guide. It covered a broad range of subjects; some William was more an expert in, some where Jordan could provide expertise. I truly felt like a book form of podcast.

The structure was nice and easy to follow, which made reading super chill for an avid reader like me but I can see how a non-avid reader and just a fan of the podcast could find this not intimidating. It was well organised with categories follow many aspects of life; something for everyone and not the same old scenarios throughout the book.

I think the thing I loved the most about this book was that it was just funny, charming and a true love letter to fans. Full of in-jokes and references, there was lots to giggle at and notice throughout the book - I don't think there was a moment where I wasn't smiling when reading this book.

The only reason I couldn't quite give this one 5 stars, was it just felt like an episode of the podcast in book form. Maybe this is what they were going for, but I was hoping for a little more insight into their lives together and separately as well as some behind the scenes information but that's just me!

Overall, a funny and hilarious guide to life by two of the most different yet funny people. It was a lovely gift to the fans and pleasant read to keep on the shelves. I would only really recommend this book to fans of the podcast though, as my Mum did read this having never listened to the podcast and she didn't get it. There is a lot in the book that I feel only really the fans would appreciate. Either way, I loved it and will definitely keep it around the read again.

My Review

First things first, if you haven’t listened to the podcast of Help I S*xted My Boss then you are missing out! It’s one of the funniest, heart warming and brilliant podcasts I’ve listened to. I am what they call a G&Diva😀

As a fan of the podcast, I was desperate to get my hands on this book! I decided to buy the audiobook so I could listen in the car… it doesn’t disappoint and is a perfect accompaniment to any car journey! Answering all the questions you could think of such as Help my mate won’t buy a round at the pub to the duo finally answering the titular question Help I S*xted My Boss!

Both William and Jordan are brilliant in this book and answer the questions honestly and with humour. What I also love is that both of them are really good friends but don’t always agree on their advice..

I love the podcast as, even though there’s a running order to it, the conversation can go off in a tangent where hilarity ensues however with the audiobook this sadly doesn’t happen as much. That being said I really enjoyed this audiobook and I would certainly recommend it to everyone!

Long Story Short: William Hanson and Jordan North are unlikely friends, but that doesn't stop them from offering advice for life's modern problems.

Help I Sexted My Boss is legitimately my favorite podcast, and if I may fangirl for a minute, it is incredible to see the evolution of the pod and William and Jordan's successes over the years. In one of the early episodes (2018!) they mention wanting to write a book, so to see that come to fruition is very cool. I immediately pre-ordered a signed copy when the book was announced and happily paid the international shipping fee.

Now, onto the book itself. The dilemmas are tamer than those shared on the podcast, and in some sections there really aren't many written-in dilemmas shared at all. Some of the dilemmas are similar to those shared on the podcast, and like others have said, some feel catered towards a younger crowd. As a listener, I could feel William and Jordan's charm come through the pages, but I can't say it would be the same for non-listeners. Much of the advice isn't what you'd refer back to over time, but it would be a fun addition to the coffee table or for light, fun reading. The "I'm more, you're more" sections at the beginning of each section are very, very good, along with the "William" and "Jordan" info sections throughout.

Now if only they'd bring their tour to America...

Enjoyment: 4/5
Craft: 4/5
Overall: 4/5

I was looking forward to listening to this as an audiobook as I really enjoy the podcast. I went into it anticipating the familiar banter and camaraderie between William, Jordan, and the rest of the team. However, the experience fell short of my hopes, leading me to stop listening after just 30 minutes.

One of the things that makes the podcast so great is the spontaneous and natural banter between William and Jordan, and the rest of the team. Unfortunately that was lost in the transition to the audiobook. The interactions felt overly scripted, lacking the authenticity that makes the podcast so enjoyable.

One of the podcast's strengths is its ability to appeal to a diverse audience, but regrettably, the (audio)book seemed to be targeting a significantly younger demographic. This decision seems odd to me, as it diverged from the appeal and audience of the original content.

In conclusion, for devoted fans of the podcast, the audiobook may not be the ideal substitute. The scripted nature and the shift in target audience make it a less satisfying experience compared to the dynamic atmosphere of the podcast. My recommendation for fellow enthusiasts would be to stick to the podcast, where the genuine charm and personality shine through effortlessly.

I started listening to the podcast two months ago and have been devouring it voraciously (This is not a review of the podcast—bear with me). I started all the way from the first episode and I’m listening to about an average of 4 episodes a day while I start off my morning routine and calm down for the night. I find both William and Jordan to be incredibly charming and really felt the book reflected the charm of their personalities and their dynamic. The main reason this is getting 3 stars is because I had really hoped the book would give us some additional insight into the two authors and really stand as a separate entity from the podcast. I may not have listened to the entire podcast catalogue at this point, but I’m already in deep enough to know that the excerpts that were included in each section are mostly recycled moments from the podcast itself. This was a cute way to get a tangible object to memorialize my interest in their podcast, but I didn’t feel like it was much more than that.

I love the podcast, so I decided to check out the audiobook. It was an easy read and translated well into an audiobook. While enjoyable, I felt it leaned more towards a younger audience than the boys' age (which I share). Not a big issue, but I wished it aimed a bit older. Some parts, like general advice, felt like filler. People don't listen to learn what to wear to an interview; you can Google that. We tune in for the boys' unique perspectives on situations, and I wish the book had more of that. Would I buy the book if I had my chance again? Probably just to support the boys but if you're not into the podcast as much, you are not missing much if you don't read it. Borrow it from a friend. Its a light and easy read.

As a huge fan of their podcast of the same title, I had to get this book version of the life advice and etiquette rules that Jordan North and William Hanson have written.

From how to live with housemates to job interviews, they offer advice on a variety of topics, often contradictory as their different backgrounds can mean they each have a very different take on a situation.

Being familiar with them, their voices spoke each word in my head as I read.
The magic of their podcast and the book is that Burnley native Jordan with his down to earth upbringing and etiquette expert William, posh and proper have forged a friendship which proves that there is more that unites us than divides us.

A very enjoyable book which any podcast fan - the G&Divas - will instantly love.

I love HISMB - I love nothing more than to see the 'New podcast available' notification pop up on my phone. The relationship between William and Jordan is what represents everything true friendship should be, laughter, banter and taking the p**s out of each other! However, I was bitterly disappointed with the book - it is just the podcast in a written form. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but this was certainly not it. With the volume of letters and dilemmas they receive and never get the chance to reply, a book would be an ideal place to have covered that extra content. I listen to the podcast on Apple, and feel I've wasted money on reading content I've already listened to! A very disappointed G&Diva!
