This was a good addition to the series but at the end it got a little loose in the plot. almost a whole chapter was taken from the first story verbatim as an explaination to what happened and why. It was a little meh at the end but more historically accurate than the first. Again, they fall into bed together within the first like 2 chapters and go from there. The first was better at giving some tension between the characters and I didn't really care for how she bartered what she wanted with her body but I guess when that's all you got you run with it.

not terrible overall but I'm not waiting with baited breath for the next either.

I totally enjoyed this story and want to buy the rest of this series. I'm a fan of most of her books, but just recently came across this one in a used book store. I am DEFINATELY NOT disappointed in it. I will purchase the rest of this series for sure & it will be a keep series.

2nd in series. Predictable/fake-emotional/bit ridiculous as book went on. Found myself skimming to get done. Don't think I will bother with final book.

An entertaining story set in Medieval Scotland with a page turning plot and strong-willed characters.

If you haven't read book #1 don't read this review. It doesn't contain spoilers per se but if you're like me and hate knowing anything about a book before reading it (I don't even read jackets) this review might contain spoilettes.

And if you've read A Storm of Passion then you all ready know the basic outline for Storm of Pleasure. In many ways it's the same book where actions, characters and situations are duplicated. At times it was frustrating to read the same scenario take place just with new names or slight changes. I did find myself getting a little bored a few times and decided to put the book down. When I came back to it minutes or hours later I had renewed interest and once the story really got going I didn't put it down again. It wasn't engrossing on the whole but once I made it to Chapter 10 I started to get invested.

As I mentioned in my review of A Storm of Passion, this isn't a typical historical romance when it comes to the steam factor. It's once again very carnal, even based in the flesh, and this one involves some backdoor action (book #1 had a snippet of that). I'm not positive, but I don't think I've ever read that sort of 'bedplay' in one of my typical historical romances. So it's more erotic than not but not so erotic that you'll blush if you are so inclined. One reviewer commented that it had too much sex but I assert that that is simply not possible.

Of course this book also contains the paranormal aspect of the first one. If you haven't read that book then stop reading this review as the following will contain minor spoilers. This time we meet brother #2, Gavin who is a Truthsayer and his gift is that he reveals one's truth. His curse is that it causes debilitating pain, clamoring of voices in his head that can't be shut off and days of deafness. Oh, and he needs endless amounts of female flesh to make it a wee bit better just like his brother Connor. We already know that his paranormal ability comes from his Sith half so there is no real unraveling of his origins like we read in Connor's book.

The heroine, Katla has a traumatic experience like Moria. She watches her father murdered after he's accused of treason and then fights for her brothers release from imprisonment for the same crime. Katla uses her body to aid her, like Moria, but to a much lesser degree. She also is only with two men, both who love her and right or wrong it made Katla the easier heroine to sympathize with and like. I guess technically Gavin was similarly likeable, more so than Connor anyway, but his appetite for women, sometimes multiple in a day, didn't help win any favor.

The ending, as is true of the entire book, was reminiscent of the first book. It was wrapped up tidily in a bow. I love a good bow ending but in both books it's just too much. I would advise that you not read this book if you didn't at least kind of like book #1. You'll be reading a good deal of the same stuff. When I start a series I finish it no matter what and though the plot of book #1 and #2 isn't bad I'm hoping book #3 Mistress of the Storm will be different.

The book is set In 1098 on the Gairsay Island, where the men are loyal to the Earl Magnus who demands Sven Rognvaldson and his son Kali come with them to face the charges of treason. But Sven draws his sword and is stabbed to death while his beloved daughter Katla Svensdottir watches. Sven's last words to Katla was to take care of Kali. Katla realizes that Harold Erlendson who accuser them of treason wants the son as dead as the father, so she offers the only thing she has her body to help keep her sibling safe. But he is arrested and taken for a trial at Birsay.

Katla goes to Orkney to obtain help from a Truthsayer and once there she meets Gavin the recluse who is losing his mind to the voices rioting inside his head. He is stunned when she seems to soothe the voices destroying his mind. So they make a deal where she stays with him in his cave and he will help prove her brother's innocence. But neither of them expected to fall in love, but they both fail to take that first risk of admitting how they feel about each other.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I hope you read it too.

I was really excited to read the 2nd book in Terri Brisbin's Storm series. Since I picked up her first book on a whim and read and enjoyed it, I'd hope that I would enjoyed this one as well. And I did, very much. It's a historical/erotica romance, very heavy on the erotica. I wasn't much into historical erotica until reading this series. I like that the smexin' started right away. Yes, Katla and Gavin kinda just fell into bed and started smexing before you know what's going on with them. And, they do it a.lot. Some people might think that this is a bad thing, but not me. I for one do not think there is such a thing as too much smex. The story does unfold and you see how their relationship builds. I enjoyed it, and I can't wait for the 3rd book in the series.

I have to say that I have mixed feelings about this book. Overall, I loved it. Terri Brisbin has a wonderful imagination and I was captivated by the love, loss and betrayal that the characters endured. What I didn't like is how the sex almost overpowered the storyline. I realize that it played a huge role in the concept of the story, however, there were times when I felt it was too much (especially at the end during his ritual of searching for his brothers). Sometimes it seemed like the story was written around the sex instead of having a story written with sex in it. Aside from that, I really thought it was a great book and I would love to hear more about the lives of these characters.

In four days all is fininshed. I was not disappointed! I could hardly place the book down and when I did it was for a short period of time. I realized about 33 pages into the story something was familiar and so I serched it out. I found the answer in one other story written by this Author, "The Storm of Passion." This book was sent to me from the Best Bookseller's Awards. It was in my Panel to judge for 2010. Now I have the opportunity to meet Terri Brisbin in the next few days which will be a delight. I catagorize Terri Brisbin a very talented Author who writes with daring and passion.

I've read the whole book, not knowing til the end that it was part of a series. That is so annoying when it happens. Still it was an enjoyable read, without having read the first one. However it didn't appear to effect the outcome that much.
The story is captivating with well thought out characters and plot location. Sometimes the heroine did come across as a little desperate and pushy, but it was well balanced out by the actions of the other characters.
I'm still unsure about the ending thou. I felt it could have been handled differently.

At first I was afraid this book was going to turn out to just been a sex filled no point to the story kinda of book...I was wrong! Though it has sex trickled all the way through this book, the meat of the story is really good. I didn't want to put it down once I got half way through it...the story picks up and really has you turning the pages! Brisbin definitely keeps you hanging on til the end when she decides to give you the answers to Gavin and Katla and what their future holds.

sexy book. the storyline was good, but it recycled quite a few elements from the previous book. i enjoyed the historical aspect was closer to the truth for this one compaired to the previous. i also liked that she gave a blurb at the end on the few things she took some liberty with. overall, a great read and can't wait for the next book.

DNF -- there is such a thing as too much sex! There was no romantic connection between the h/h and I just couldn't warm up to them. I also didn't care for the way the heroine was treated. Sorry, but this one is just not for me!

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the smut in this one better than A Storm of Passion but I think I would have liked for the Characters to be a little more developed like they were in the other. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series thats for sure!

Peggiore del primo, anche se il protagonista l'ho preferito rispetto a Connor, al contrario Katla, mi è stata potentemente sullo stomaco, con le sue bugie e la sua testardaggine (anche di fronte all'evidanza!)
