As a paranormal enthusiast, I thoroughly recommend this book about one of the first and most influential ghost hunters. A fascinating look at Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's life and the origins of modern-day ghost hunting. The only thing missing are a few photographs to illustrate the book.

Being a paranormal investigator and a believer in the spirit world I really enjoyed reading about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's eventual total belief in the spirit world. An absorbing and fascinating book and well researched and written by Kelvin Jones.

This is a bit too dry and dusty in style which kept me from finishing
I picked this up in a second hand bookshop and felt it was of interest as the subject matter is so facinating

Conan Doyle was larger than life and a character in his own life story and interests

i’m always interested in the Victorian era
So much was unfolding in terms of scientific discovery but also this area of theosophical thought

Life during that time cannot be romanticized really as it was very rigid socially and only men of means ( like Doyle ) were able to live with any sort of freedom
