She had watched him from afar, thinking him as her knight in shinning armor, but when her heart gets broken Skyler Draeger discovers there isn't much to her fairy tale.
Adrian Laswell made a big mistake one might and it seems an even bigger one when he makes his claim on Skyler. He lets a few months go by before he shows back up into her life only to discover that claiming Skyler isn't going to be as easy as what he had hopped.
An old saying goes that there is nothing worst than a woman scorned; only man has no concepts of that until he comes face to face with shifter female. Now the battle of wills is on and a shadow lurks over their shoulders. Can Adrian mend her broken heart, or will his mistake prevent Skyler from loving him forever?

Jaden Sinclair is the mother of two boys, married for thirteen years and has lived in Kansas most of her life. Her family supports her writing dream and are amazed at how vivid her imagination is at times.
She dreams up most of her ideas and writes every one of them down, making sure that one day her characters will get their own book. With so many new books coming to her almost daily it's a wonder at times she ever gets anything done. One of the interesting things that Jaden does with her writing is that she can always work on more than one book at a time.
In her spare time, when she can escape from the computer, Jaden knits and reads. But it's her love for writing as well as taking care of her family that keeps her the most busy.
Adrian the clueless and Skyler the b*tch. Not really a stand-a-lone. There are a ton of references to previous books. Between that and the sloppy writing, it was difficult to know what was going on. Skyler finds Adrian schtupping her BF in the woods at a party moments before he realizes that Skyler is his mate. I knew this scene would start the book, but it was still pretty explicit and nasty.
Seven months later (why seven months??? It's never explained) Adrian shows up to mate Skyler. He hasn't contacted her at all in that interim. So romantic so far right??? Then he and her brothers proceed to laugh and joke about the whole thing. Nice right??? I'm sure it makes Skyler feel SOOOO appreciated to be the butt of jokes that her mate boinked her BF last time she saw him. By now I was half way through an over priced short story ($4 for 48 pages... says 138 online but it's only 48). So i figured I might as well finish it. It does get marginally better but not much. There's a couple crazy villains and some nonsensical evil hijinks. Too much mediocre sex and very little romance... Meh.
And Shifter books are not for me.... this was awful... everything about how these two get together pissed me off. If you like shifter books go nuts. If you like less victim blaming and rape the look elsewhere At least it was a quick read
Manwhore reformed. Female lead was a virgin (of course - yes that’s sarcasm) I’m over these type of stories where she’s a good girl and the guy is an ass
Skylar is a spoiled princess that I just did not like. The first sex they have is anal 🙄 (eye roll)
I didn’t read book 1 so missed the “sex” scene between BFF and Adrian (if on age) so I’m not sure if there was a scene between Skylar and BFF or not - could have made the story better if that had been included, but that’s my opinion.
I didn’t care for the book and at 4.99 it’s too much money to spend just to see what happens next
I liked that the hero was sorry about his big screw up and that the heroine didn't forget all about it the second he was back. That said, I would have liked to have seen the concept of WHY he was confused and what he did about it flushed out a bit more.
Love that this author made the H grovel and feel remorse for hurting h.

The usual, "Hey baby. I'm sorry you saw me with the other girl. Come and give me a kiss." Usually that will make me side with the heroine but not in this case. Okay story.
