Enjoyable and I don't quilt!

Read it for 'a change, because I have sewn about anything you can imagine, knitting is my fav......of all crafts...anywho, light, informatve and well written, I still wonquilt, but I would read another of her books.

This light, humorous read will have all quilters relating to the little stories and ideas contained in the chapters of this book. Those who are not quilters, might just gain some insight into the wonderful world of quilting. In one chapter, Ms. Boyer lays down some great, hilarious ideas for a different set of judging rules for quilt shows. In another, she tells why you should never ask an opinion of your husband when it comes to fabric or design choice. I laughted out loud quite often while reading this book.

Found this book at a thrift shop and it came with a cute packet of stationery, so I couldn't resist.

I didn't care for this book, and it's not because I'm not a quilter. It was the repetitive humor which wasn't all that funny.

Every other sentence, the author was trying to make a joke. Rather than filling her essays/short stories with hundreds of mediocre jokes, she should've focused on writing just a couple of really good jokes.

All the humor was focused around her love of chocolate, her husband doing/saying something weird, alien-shaped fabric blobs, etc.

At least the book was short.

I'm not a quilter (per se), but I do have a love of fabric and have made patchwork blankets for friends. I enjoyed Lisa humor and could identify myself in a number of her chapters. Maybe I'm a closet quilter and didn't know it!

If you are a quilter, you will absolutely identify with this book. It is a collection of articles, or blog entries, or thoughts.... It's not a story. It was a fun read. If you are not a quilter, you wouldn't get it.
