About the author

Clare West has over twenty years' TEFL classroom experience in the UK and overseas, and has led workshops for teachers in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Greece, and Argentina. For most of her teaching career she was involved with long-stay students on Cambridge examination courses, and engaged in the development of strategies to improve students' reading and writing skills.

She is now a freelance author, with a special interest in the literary and cultural aspects of language learning. Current writing projects include contributing to the Oxford Bookworms Library and Dominoes series, writing supplementary materials such as grammar workbooks, as well as being the Series Editor for the Oxford Bookworms Playscripts series.

تحتوي على أشهر قصتين لشارلوك هولمز. وهي العصبة المبرقعة وفضيحة بوهيميا وأخيرًا بذور البرتقال وهي الأقل شهرة .

قررت في المستوى الثاني بأن آخر قراءة آرثر حتى أنتهي كيلا أمل من لغته أو أسلوبه وكان فعلي في محله .

أعجبتني وأثارت إعجابي القصة الأولى العصبة المبرقعة جميلة .
طبعا كلا ثلاث قصص مترجمة باللغة العربية ولكنها ترجمة بلا حقوق .وأعتقد أنها مرفوعة على الإنترنت

I am a fan of Sherlock Holmes. It is one of my favourite books. He is so smart. I wish I could be as smart as he, but I know he is not real. It is just a book but tell lots of things.

When I read this book I feel so exited and always been curious what will happen at the end. I have read it more than two times. All I want to say is it's a really good book and yeah every teenage would like to read it.

4a. One day, a young woman came to Sherlock Holmes. She has a problem that a stranger follow her when she goes to my mother's house. When she was younger, her father and mother died. So, she wanted her parents to get permission to marry. But, they left. After that, strange people annoucing her friends went to her house.He listened to her and made a solution.

4b. I know only his name, but I don't know his job and personality. I think his attitude to her problem is very kind. He is a good person. He made an idea to solve, this quality is good. In Japan, if there is a person like him, accidents can decrease.

5. This book is a little serious, but he made her safe. It has not only this accident, but also two more accidents. I could not read the last accident, so I want to continue to read by the end. He can solve these problems with his idea. So, the author wanted to write that he is smart. I respect him.

'The Dead Coachman' is 4 stars and actually kinda shocked me at how much the deduction scenes still really hit in prose form when compared to both the BBC TV Show and RDJ Films which I adore.

But then 'The Last Mystery' is a 2 as again having seen The Reichenbach Fall (Season 2 Episode 3) and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows which are both so special to me - this seems to tepid in comparison.

So overall a 3/5 feels right.

As a child who grew up by watching Detective Conan, from about 15 years ago, until now. Sherlock was the inspiring character for Conan, and I felt excited about knowing Sherlock to like him like Conan.
Reading these short stories was so interesting for me, and I'm so excited about reading another book written by Arthur Conan Doyle about Sherlock. I really like mystery !
