I liked reading about wooded areas in Scotland I was already somewhat familiar with and learning about some new ones I might check out in the future. Its a quick and easy read and it has a decent photo to text ratio, with some interesting tales about famous historical battles having taken place in some forests and it was particularly interesting reading about some of the wildlife that's been seen in different areas.
I like that it tackles different parts (areas) of Scotland in different sections. This is quite an old read, dating from around 1990 but it was going to go in the bin at work and I thought I'd give it a quick flick through. I admit I'm somewhat obsessed (or it can feel/seem that way lol) with finding and reading quick reads with a pagination of barely 100 pages, to push up my total books read this year. I do find most of the reads so far almost surprisingly interesting though, to be fair. I thought this title was particularly interesting as well because it refers to what were plans for the future, the future of forest conservation in Scotland, what laws and policies were down the pipeline etc. I wonder how much went to plan and which areas are now less than they were then? sad to think about. I could look it up I suppose but in any case, its an interesting snapshot about Scotland's forests in the early 90s, which I'd happily recommend.
