The Final Confrontation

Rate this book
What is going on in the world from a Catholic perspective? Do the Catholic saints, Church Fathers, modern Popes and approved apparitions have anything to say about things? In this book, author Mark Mallet would say they certainly do. In his view, the Catholic Church of today is facing what he calls "the final confrontation" between the forces of Jesus Christ and those of Satan. One of the most popular books available on this subject today.

Context, context context. Marian apparitions placed into context. Very logical and not the predictable hysteria, depiction of the times we are living. Not a doom and gloom portrayal either. Rather an inspiring get-it-together tome. Well done and i will share.

I have been following Mark Mallett's writings at The Now Word semi-regularly for several years now, and this is my second time reading The Final Confrontation. The first time I read it (about six or seven years ago) I found it intriguing and well written, but only this time did the full weight and truth of the message strike me. I found myself compelled to read through with a bible at my side, taking notes and highlighting many Scripture passages that were illuminated for me in a new way (particularly passages from the Old Testament prophets). Mallett thoroughly and convincingly weaves together Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, the writings of popes from the past 150 years, news sources, and private revelation to reveal the urgent call to Catholics to wake up to the sobering reality of the present times and the maintain the hope we have in Christ's promise that he will both protect and restore his Bride, the Church.
