In 1708, Annabelle Leigh Holbrook met and fell in love with Werewolf King, Warwick Deveraux. Against all odds, they secretly married and had a child together, blissfully happy until those close to them ripped them apart. 300 years later, their final descendent is back to change history. Plunged into the darkness of a town cursed to 300 years of night, Ashley Holbrook must contend with the ghost of her ancestor, an irresponsible mother and her fickle heart as she decides between the Wolf King's nephew and the vampire who started it all.
Hello, everyone! I'm a mother of two beautiful boys, an avid reader as well as a now-published author. I LOVE anything Young Adult, though I usually gravitate towards the paranormal/supernatural/scifi sides of things.
FYI, even though they are still listed, the three books of the Mason Ridge Trilogy (Losing Control, Losing Heart, and Losing It All) have been discontinued. I hope to re-release them some time in the next couple years in one book titled, The Curse of Mason Ridge.
This book had a lot of promise. But I had to ditch it by page 114. She still doesn't know she's dealing with vampires & werewolves, the plot is moving along at a snail's pace while being muddied up with too much info. I hate to bad mouth books because writing is art & something authors put their heart & soul into. And I know this is an indie book as well, so that makes me feel worse. But if I'm being honest, I feel like this book needs to be professionally edited about 3 times to make it readable. The prose is amateur and just doesn't flow well. It reads awkward & uncomfortable. I tried to get past it & could have if only the plot would've sped up. Sorry to the author, it just didn't work for me :(
Ashley Holbrook has moved into a house which is haunted by her ancestor Annabel who's spirit now haunting her. Annabel's former lover Warwick Devereaux as Werewolf King had married her, however her first love, Gabriel had never properly left the scene. Gabriel is a Vampire. Somehow a 300 year old curse reigns. The reader is never made clear about the curse & the story finishes incomplete. The 80+ chapters require extensive editing. The script is full of teenage love angst - to the point that it's neigh on impossible, my eyes have been rolling like blinds. With proper treatment it might make a teen movie but I wouldn't wish anything this long on any reader for so little an outcome
