Long before computers made it easier for one to play a detective in Victorian England, there were Choose-Your-Own adventure books (or in this case, Solo Mysteries). No hardware or software needed here; just one's imagination and a couple of instructions at the end of each page and you're off, playing Sherlock Holmes' protege. This series is much more complicated than the regular Choose-your-own books. Unlike CYOB, the creators of this series tried to incorporate luck into each choose (which is more realistic), with some "forks" involving tossing coins or picking numbers and colors. There are also more endings than the regular CYOB. Definitely, a fun read for detective story lovers
