while i didn't actually read THIS book, i did just finish "ambrosia and small beer" letters edited by c. hassall and mostly the letters of edward marsh, sir. filled with poetry, theathre, movies, wwii, wwi, boarding schools, cambridge clubs, london late night parties, more poety, actors and the acting life, lots of ivor novello vignettes, and marsh was w. churchill's secretary for many years, so lots about churchill family too, and the obligatory summer rounds of staying at rich peoples houses scattered all over the island. fun and informative. i want to read hassall's bios he wrote. supposed to be classics.
