George Putnam loved Amelia Earhart very, very much. In fact, I think he idolized her. I really felt like I got to know Amelia through reading this book. She loved flying so much. It was her whole life. She really didn't even want to marry George because she thought it would interfere with her flying. She worked really hard promoting herself so that she could make enough money to finance her flying projects. Their relationship worked out well because he was her publicist and manager.

George Putnam, Amelia Earhart's husband, brings this woman to life by telling stories from her childhood and life. He skips all controversy--especially everything connected with her disappearance in the around-the-world flight, but it's a fascinating book that made me love her all the more.
