Nice book on the solo-short-form that has good pictures of the exercises. I'm using this book in conjunction with a class and it is helping me clarify some of the instructions and giving me confidence in my practice outside of class.

Some of the descriptions are a bit vague. The William C. C. Chen book is a better guide to walk you through the movements, but neither is adequate to learn from alone. The guidance of a practicing instructor is necessary to learn this form.

Seeing as this is the form that I learned when I took lessons, the book allows me to "refresh" my knowledge of the form. I have a tape of William C. Phillips (studied under Cheng Man-Ching, as did author Herman Kauz) performing the form, and this book works along nicely with that.
