The author recounts how his faith was shaken after he lost his wife and two-year-old daughter to AIDS as a result of an infected blood transfusion, was ostracized by his church, and lost his job, offering advice on how to survive a personal tragedy and rebuild personal faith. Original.
Definitely one of the best books, if not The best, that deals with loss. The author gets right to it: the tragedy, deaths, community reaction, pain, anger, bitterness -all so honest and real. Then, slowly, in a real human way, he begins to let the Lord into every area. He truly processed all the pain and negative stuff that comes from watching your loved ones suffer and die. He admits when he messes up, too. I am going to need to re-read parts of it for the healthy lessons I learned. So thankful for this little book!
