Firstly, loved the names like the detective/cop/etc Will Ketchum = will catch them (the criminals). Some of the mysteries were actually decent like the painting ones with a strange detail or one or two that were clever in hiding evidence in them. BUT I think a lot are equally stupid with HUGE leaps of logic. Ex the one of the two families of man, woman, dog, girl each and finding who was the 7th in the group that should've been 6th. They made jumps like a "woman's jacket only has buttons on the left side" - women can wear men's jackets too. And what if the woman wasn't wearing a jacket in the first place. And other ones like "she has a ribbon so she wouldn't wear a hat" - no??? If she has a ribbon in her hair, she may still want or not want a hat too. And then things like "this dog goes with that family because you can/can't see a collar" - no???? Some people walk outside with or without collars for their dogs anway.

Its a lot of leaps of logic that I disliked. But I think these recent mysteries make me not enjoy mysteries as much when I try to take them seriously. A lot of clues IMO turn out unfair or are just extreme leaps of logic with other viable explanations. Its just up to the reader to try to find the solution while correctly guessing/assuming the right leap of logic, which I'm not crazy for nor good at I guess.

This was a fun collection of logic puzzles, but I'm surprised that it is a children's book. The level of difficulty is way above that of Encyclopedia Brown, who is mentioned on the cover. None of them came easily to me; they were reminiscent of the problems on the Logic section of the GRE, which I did really well on.

very enjoyable. You are given clues and you try to figure out who is who or who did what. I had to use a pencil and paper to sort it out. These are not easy but they are fun. there were lots of puzzles and the clue page was very helpful.

This book was really good and it makes you think about the mysteries for a while before you solve the problem.☻
