Let The Mensa Genius Quiz Book help you find out. This collection of quizzes, puzzles, games, and strategies is guaranteed to tax your intelligence, provide hours of entertainment, and make you jumping-up-and-down-crazy for the right answers. You need an I.Q. in the top two percent of the population to join Mensa , but with the sample tests inside you can see how you'd rate alongside such famous M's (as Mensans call themselves) as R. Buckminster Fuller. You'll also find tips from Mensa members on how to boost your own intelligence, improve your memory, and think more effectively. A special section on how to take tests shows how anyone can do better on almost any test imaginable.Whether you're verbally, numerically, or visually inclined, this "Rubik's Cube of Books" is the book for you.
If you picked up this book, most likely you really are one smart cookie. Have fun answering these quizzes, but be sure you don't miss Isaac Asimov's Introduction and the very interesting short articles interspersed throughout the book.
And don't take any of this too seriously. These quizzes are not bonafide I.Q. tests, and some of the questions (and answers!) have been around the block so many times that you are bound to have heard them before. That will undoubtedly skew your "test" results!
This is the book that prompted me to to take the mail order Mensa test, I did so well on that I decided to take the $40.00 official proctored test at the library. I passed the test, realized that I am within the top 2% percentile of intelligent people in the world population. But by being within the top 2% percentile of intelligent people in the world I also realized that unless I put that awesome intelligence to use to help other's or make world changing discoveries my Mensa Certificate, whilst hanging in a frame on the wall, may look really cool but might as well be a print of Van Gogh's self portrait hanging there. Point being, you can be the smartest person in the world and and nobody will give the southend of a northbound rat if you do not put this intelligence to good use and do something with it. so someday I intend to solve some great problem or conundrum that will be disproved 20+ year's afterward.
Are you a genius? Are you smart enough to join Mensa and compete with Mensans? Buy this book, and find out by testing yourself in a variety of intellectual challenges from verbal, mathematical, and purely logical. The short answer, for me, was, yes I am.
I found this while looking for another book, which happens all the time. I'm really glad I found it. My husband and I have been taking the quizzes. It has been really fun. Interesting book and not just for geniuses!
