A New Beginning, as the title perhaps suggests, is a collection of poems about a mind that thinks, a heart that feels, a tide that rises and falls, a red blood, and being human as a gift from god. Etc. While Cook is sincere, putting that sincerity into poetic form begs the question of necessity, hence discursiveness. Not really a fan of Mancini's Ligatures, but at least the man has some Colossal Balls.
