On one of my trips with Randy I met Lotus Weinstock, a fellow comic he was working with that week. Sadly Lotus passed away in 1997 of a brain tumor. She was funny and kind to me. Not all comediennes are hospitable to the wives of other comics, we are usually viewed as a tag along or competition for attention. Lotus was one of the nice ones. She is the author of this book, of which I find as witty and charming as she was. On the front inside cover she autographed it for us. “6/22/86 For Randy & Patty; With Love & laughter – Lotus – It’s clear God’s blessed your love.” Her book is full of insights, irony, and wit. It covers her take on such topics as motherhood, marriage, wrinkles, and much much more. Lotus Postition is fun to pick up, flip through and read some of this insightful thoughts of this lovely woman.
