For over 30 years after leaving Vietnam, Chief Warrant Officer Darr knew he had to make one more lifesaving his own. As a helicopter ambulance pilot, he had saved countless lives under fire. But the memories and bitterness that lived with him every day had taken a heavy toll on his mind, body, and spirit. Through the telling of his experiences in Vietnam, he not only frees himself from the shame and stigma imposed by the U.S. government and society, but he resurrects the honor and the dignity of every man and woman who served their country in Vietnam. These forgotten warriors demonstrated their unswerving patriotism by serving in a country halfway around the world only to be treated as social outcasts upon their return home. We invite you to climb into the cockpit of UH-1 Huey helicopter and fly into battle with Mr. Darr, experience the terror projected by a determined enemy, and savor the wonderful feeling of saving a human's life (both friendly and enemy) in the midst of a hell created on earth.
