Clear, accurate presentation of the most important classical and contemporary theories in normative and metaethics–utilitarianism (act and rule), egoism, the categorical imperative, social contract theory, formalism, relativism (belief and conceptual), naturalism and non- naturalism, emotivism and prescriptive. Integrates thorough discussion of related concepts including justice, the will, autonomy, promises, punishment and universal law.
Not a bad book at all -- nice, clear introduction to several topics in both normative ethics and metaethics. It rarely puts its toe fully into the water, however, and can sometimes be a bit dry and repetitive. Also I was very thrown off by the references to some dead guys (Rawls, e.g.) as if they're still out and about lol
Etik'e giriş için gayet güzel bir kitap, ilave olarak ''A. A. Stroll , A. A. Long, V. J. Bourke, R. Campbell'' yazarların ortak kitabı Etik Kuramları'nı tavsiye edebilirim.
the best intro to ethics book i've read (and I've read many) sometimes too simplistic or boring BUT it's not meant to be fun. soooo good book good job feldman öptümmm
I've only read just a little more than half of this for my ethics class, and I can say that it was better than the Routledge one. It is easy to read, and even though sometimes a little bit repetitive- which I am okay with, it is informative enough and I had fun reading it.
