This is definitely written as a "quickie reference" book, often skimming over topics. It's well-organized & easy to find the topics that are in it, but I felt it often skipped over things that might be useful. Probably not meant for beginners, but possibly as more of a "refresher" for people who know more on Feng Shui.
This is probably the most gorgeous book on feng shui I have seen and read. It's filled with color and delightfully designed. I'm not too familiar with feng shui, so a book like this is a great introduction - pulling me with its gorgeous design, and allowing me to flip through sections to see what appeals to me without starting from the front.
Cute coffee table book. Easy to read, separated into sections, and each section was in list format. This is like the magazine-version of “The Life Changing Magic of studying Up.”
Easy read and directions are clear. Great for beginners who are embracing on this topic. I learned a few new things, but overall, most of the info was known by those who already practice.
First, the Feng Shui of the cover of this book is wonderful.
Second, if you have tried to "get" Feng Shui and you can't quite "get it," you are exactly where I was when I was enticed by the book's cover to pick it up and bring it home.
It is like a combination of a first grade course in Feng Shui and a course in motivation to use Feng Shui in the arrangement and decorating your home.
It is fun. It is designed for easy reference, again and again. In fact, when I realized I had not added this book to my bookshelf this morning and wanted to add it and couldn't find it, I panicked. I would no more want to lose this book than I would want to lose my most comfortable bedroom slippers.
Yes, you get it: I recommend it. Not to buy and sit down and read straight through. To buy and set on your coffee table--if I had not moved it from there, I would have found it this morning without so much trouble. Then, pick it up as you drink your coffee/tea and explore and read and think about you and your space and the concept of Feng Shui. It will change your house. But, don't be surprised if it changes you, too.
Really interesting intro to Feng Shui. Frank doesn't believe all our Ch'i was quite literally going down the toilets, but now it's not and I'm sure life is better already
