Can't Hurry Love

Rate this book
Vincent is one unlucky bunny. After an indiscreet rendezvous with a sexy satyr in the supply closet at work, he's put on probation and temporarily reassigned from the Easter Bunny Department to the Cupid Department. As his penance he's ordered to motivate one very sexy but surly cupid by the name of Charles Ross, who is effectively on strike. Their first matchmaking assignment looks clear cut, an in-and-out (so to speak) task they can finish quickly so Vincent can prove he's done his time and go back to stuffing Easter baskets. But when the plan goes wrong and Charlie ends up in a love coma, Vincent is put on trial for his slutty bunny ways! Now his only hope is for love to conquer all-including death-and come winging his way.

Growing up Southern has been an interesting experience for Jules, who discovered that labels for things like gender and sexuality are, at best, approximations. When not reading or playing video games or writing (or doing all three at once!) Jules is generally trying to convincingly pretend to be a responsible adult and at least do laundry once in a while. Oh, and show up for the evil day job and finish that pesky degree that's been languishing for a while now...

I knew from the great cover this would be a delightful and fun romp. Aedin has delivered another fabulous and whimsical story that is chock full of sexy myths and clever references. The great characters are combined with an interesting plot and sizzling sexual tension. A light hearted story that will make you smile, laugh, and wish myths were real, be sure to get this today. You won’t be disappointed.

Vincent is a myth assigned to the Easter Bunny Department of the Corporation, which gives him his bunny ears and cute white fluffy tail. Vincent is a bit of a slut but what’s a fun loving bunny to do? However his sexual antics with a randy satyr get Vincent put on probation and assigned to help a reluctant cupid, Charles. Charles is a matchmaker on strike, refusing to help lovers get together and Vincent must help Charles get back into the swing of his job.

The story is incredibly clever and very smartly written with numerous mythological references. This increases the level of entertainment to the story as readers can imagine myths as frat boy types, sex addicted twins, prissy receptionists, or even disinterested cupids. Every detail of the setting is used to affectively create a recognizable atmosphere but with mythological elements. Each character, comment, or setting detail is whimsical and rooted in an alternate reality where these creatures have day jobs, responsibilities, and even death. An example of the delightful nature of the narrative is here:

He passed the Greek houses on his way to the Cupid Department, grinning and winking when he saw Damon, the insatiable Satyr who had joined him for that now-infamous supply-closet rendezvous. Damon had one of the Nymphs on his lap and a beer in his hand, laughing at something Pan had just said. Those Greeks were incorrigible, every last one of them. They’d long ago corrupted the Romans to their ways, and by now the two departments were virtually indistinguishable in their philandering. Vincent adored them.

The antics don’t stop with the just setting, as Vincent must work with a recalcitrant cupid on strike. He struggles with his new assignment through mistakes, advice from Dionysus at a local bar, and finally makes a connection with Charles. The characters are well drawn, adorable, and very witty. The clever writing is shown well with the fully realized characters. They rely on stereotypes but with a lot of humor and light hearted sexual tension to help endear the men to the reader. There is no explicit sex but this isn’t a loss to the story at all. If anything, this helps carry the delicious chemistry between the two men even further.

The story is not perfect but it’s incredibly clever, unique, delightful, and ultimately there aren’t enough positive things I can say. You’ll definitely want to pick up this quick, thoroughly engaging story. Vincent’s sexy tail twitch will stay with you.

This was so much fun. Vincent is adorable, Charlie is grumpy and all the mythology made me smile. I laughed out loud a few times reading how Vincent dealt with bugs in his hotel room. Really, take the ride, you won't be disappointed.

This is a nice tale - what is not to like about a tale of fluffy bunnies , mystical creatures and a dour cupid on strike.

Vincent is cute, no doubt about it, and although he is not the sharpest tool in the shed, he is a likable character, the ultimate bunny twink. So who could blame him for being caught in a sex act at work and being demoted, going to a party and ending up in an orgy, trying to help love along with a love-potion and ending up poisoning somebody and - finally - ending up on death row.

But did I mention he is cute - he really is. And he sure loves his bunny ears and tail.

If you are looking for a light but well-written read and some smiles, you can´t go wrong here.

And all this sweetness at least will not end up on your hips this time.

I think the best things about this story is its being witty (I totally enjoy the idea of mythical creatures working in Corporation in several different departments) AND Vincent, the cute sexual bunny himself. I really love Vincent, he's so adorable with his neatness, his proudness of his bunny tail, and his sexual adventure is a legend *grin*. I love reading his thoughts :).

But since this story is mainly from Vincent's point of view, I have to admit that I don't know anything about Charlie, what makes him interested in Vincent -- and there is still that one case of his reason for refusing to take abuse cases that has never come to the light of day.

This was a super cute, original story. With Cupids, Easter Bunnies, Satyrs, Nymphs etc, the world building was brilliantly done for such a short story. I loved the characters and the well developed plot.
I loved it. It reminded me of Deanna Wadworth's Naughty Cupid.

Somewhere between 3.5 and a 4, but it made me smile a lot, so I'm rounding up to a 4 either way.
Those Greeks were incorrigible, every last one of them. They’d long ago corrupted the Romans to their ways, and by now the two departments were virtually indistinguishable in their philandering. Vincent adored them.
So we've got Vincent, a bad-boy Easter Bunny. Or, okay, more of a sex bunny. He enjoys himself, let's put it this way. Perhaps a bit too much, and in the wrong places, as in places he can get caught and put on probation for having too much fun there. You get the picture.

So as a punishment, Vincent gets assigned to help a cupid, Charlie. But not just any cupid, a cupid on strike. For some reason that the Department can't seem to figure out, Charlie is just not turning in paperwork or completing cases. Of course, they hope some shakes of Vincent's tail will do the trick.

But maybe Charlie needs more than a tail wag, and maybe Vincent is the person to provide that.
Recently, due to ethical questions that had been raised, shooting people with love-potion-tipped arrows was suspended until a committee could decide whether or not it violated free will.
In a few short words, this story was just plain silly and fun.

It had me smiling throughout most of it, and while I wouldn't say it's a super amazing story, it was just a nice light read that I got through quickly. Something I would consider skimming through again if I needed a pick-me-up.

I also liked the little bits of tying in actual myth. It was just a nice little understated detail that I appreciated.

So what do you get when you put a sex-crazed Easter Bunny and a Cupid on strike together? Well, love of course.

Vincent is an Easter bunny who gets himself in trouble at work by screwing a satyr in the supply cupboard. As punishment he's sent to motivate "on strike" cupid Charlie. Charlie is surly and basically ignores him for weeks until they finally get an assignment. They get to go to earth and get a lesbian couple together. Things go wrong in the case and Vincent gets in more trouble than he thought possible, can he get his fuzzy tail out of it. This was a VERY funny story. I chuckled and smiled all the way through but there were some poignant moments too. Vincent takes the phrase "fucks like a bunny" to heart, but after hanging around Charlie for a while he starts to wonder if that's all there is and he tries to be good, but it's hard for him. And the reason Charlie is refusing to do his job comes to light and maybe he has good reason. So while it is very funny and light there are also some more serious themes running through it. But on the whole I enjoyed it a lot and loved Vincent. The cover is adorable too.

What a delightful story! I'm all squirmy with glee! ;D I fell in love with them months ago when you sent me the first tiny snippet, and the rest of the story did not disappoint. I love all the clever details, like the names of the pterippuses (pterippi?), which of course, I had to look up. Haha. And Dionysus with his wine, but duh. XD

I was going to read half tonight/last night and the rest tomorrow/today, but that plan failed. Haha. I love it so! And it's even dedicated to me! ;_____; Thank you, my darling! <3

Can’t Hurry Love by M. Jules Aedin was damn fun. Vincent is in trouble at the Easter Bunny Department and gets shunted off to work with a grumpy cupid as punishment. Cuteness ensues. Despite being quite short this was super entertaining and I enjoyed the authors style, quick pace and the romance was just gorgeous. I liked it much; really it gets loads of stars cause one of the main characters has bunny ears and a tail. How cute is that?

Silly, witty, fun.

I love Easter bunny Vincent with his fluffy tail and utter 'bunnyness' he's an engaging slut who makes a fun pov character in this light hearted romp.

Charles his dour Cupid love interest remains too vague. I don't feel we learn anything about him, his attraction is sudden rather so there's no real chemistry.

It's a quick light read that'll leave a smile and likely cause a giggle or two.

This is an easy to read and highly entertaining story. The author's writing style is engaging, the quick pace of the storyline and the wonderfully written characters grabbed me from page one and didn't let go until the end. Highly recommended.

If fluffy tail can kill, I'll be dead for sure. lol

Have only few little sex scenes which I'm very appreciate since I wasn't forced to read all the H details (which can be boring sometimes).

Easy-reading, relaxing, bed-time story.

This was a sweet, short, mindless read about a hot Easter bunny and a sulky cupid. It wasn't long enough to satisfy me but I thought it was a cute story.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this story. It's been floating in my tbr pile for a while now and I'm so glad I finally got around to reading it.
Vincent is a happy-go-lucky twink of a Easter bunny, while Charles is a cupid who's not at all happy with his job any more and appears to be on strike. As punishment Vincent is sent to help Charles complete and report on his cases. Despite this being a novella the relationship between Vincent and Charles wasn't rushed, in fact they don't quite get together until the end. Instead the time is spent showing us how Vincent changes and realizes there's more to life then carefree romps in the supply closet. Also, once the reason for Charles being a disgruntled employee is revealed I couldn't help but see a similarity between the cupid departments work policy and a lot of the romance novels where getting to know each other and building a relationship is being replaced with jumping into bed together two minutes after meeting and calling it love. So go Charles.
Anyway I'd like to read more from this author since this story has me smitten. And not just with Vincent's fuzzy tail.

It's a pity... I wish I could give more than 2 stars but I can't.
First of all, it's too short and chaotic. IMO to a short as this one it should be much more about JUST Vincent (the bunny) and Charles (the Cupid). There are countless secondary characters and... I really think it was exaggerated. Some were there almost as just to add greek god names, not because it was really useful to the story.
Even if it's not described, Vincent ménage with the twins bothers me. A lot.
The end was... So sudden and dammit... Ok, can't hurry love, I get it, but...

Absolutely adorable.

Such a funny little story about an easter bunny and a cupid. Lovely world building in the corporation of myths. The story is fun, silly and yes there is not much meat on the bones. But it is very enjoyable none the less.

My only gripe would be, that we do not get to know Charlie at all. Vincent is our main character and we learn a lot about him and get a lot of growth in his character. But nothing from Charlie unfortunately.

This was a short cute story about a bunny named Vincent and a cupid named Charlie. It's a story that takes ancient myths and blends them with the symbols of (American) holidays. And it is cute. It was exactly what I wanted to read. Something fluffy (haha!) and charming and between to heavy books.

It sounded like it would be a good, humorous book but I really couldn't warm up to Charles, didn't like Vincent and maybe I'm a little straight laced but I don't really like it when the characters have sex with a bunch of people other than the main protagonist, especially choo choo here comes the train all aboard group sex. ICK.

This is a very cute and sweet short about Vincent, an Easter Bunny on probation, and Charles,a Cupid who is basically on strike, that he is assigned to help. The cupid does not want help and the Easter Bunny cannot go back to his own department until he gets the Cupid to get back on the job. Cute take on mythical creatures and sweet romantic story between Vincent and Charlie.

Cardboard characters. One MC was a total slut and the other- I've seen more personality out of a wet paper bag. A cutesy concept but, I just wasn't feeling it. The 'angst' (if you want to call it that) was put out and then wrapped up in a matter of pages. Not horrible but not great, just sort of blah. I've read other stories by this author and enjoyed them, this wasn't one of the better stories.

This is an OK story with a with fun plot and interesting twists. Though I have to say it felt shallow and surface. There is so much more that could have been done with the characters, situations, and scenese that were just glossed over. Not one of my favorites.

I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more if I hadn't been interrupted so much while reading it. I love mythology so it was right up my street but I had difficulty really absorbing it because of the fractured reading I did.
