This could just be like a ‘we don’t negotiate with terrorists situation’ but if all Jack Frost wanted was his own party couldn’t they just have thrown him one too? Like he’s already banished to his ice castle why not tell him if he and the goblins leave the magic party bags alone then the party fairies will throw him a party too. I feel like Jack Frost and the goblins need a redemption arc, like in the movie trolls. Jasmine was by far the most on top of things of the party fairies.

In Jasmine the Present Fairy, Rachel and Kristy help Jasmine get her party bag back from the goblins. They find the goblin in a big pile of sawdust at a block party. All the toys in the sawdust bag you have to pull out and see what you win, but they're all broken because of the goblin. Jasmine takes out her party bag to sprinkle fairy dust on the toys to fix them but the goblin grabs the party bag. Once they get it back, they run into Kristy's house. Kristy's family is part of the block party. But Kristy has a cat and the goblin goes through the cat flap into the house. Jasmine takes an old box and puts a trail of fake fairy dust right into it and makes it look like the party bag is in it. The goblin goes into the box to try to get the party bag but he gets trapped in the box because Jasmine used magic to make the box close with ribbon. At the end, Jasmine takes Rachel and Kristy back to Fairy Land with her, because it's the Queen and King's 1000th anniversary. Rachel and Kristy are the special guests. Now because all the party fairies' party bags are safe, nothing in the anniversary party goes wrong at all.

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

I really, really liked it. It was really, really nice.

My favourite bit was when the fairy sprinkled magic on the box, to make it look like a present, and when the goblin changed all the prizes to be bad so that the children would be sad.

I might have lost my other two fairy books...

2.5 Stars!

I’m not gonna lie, this book was pretty disappointing for me. I think it’s just such a lacklustre ending from an otherwise fantastic series. From they sped through the events of the anniversary party (the one we’ve been building up to for six books) to not having an actual resolution from Jack Frost (because we’re supposed to believe that he just accepted defeat), I think they really fumbled the bag on this one.

Jasmine’s entrance was the best thing about her. She was so sneaky with the way she changed that little girl’s prize so she’d get what she wanted (Santa Claus could never). I also appreciated her basically saying, ‘idgaf about this goblin nonsense, I have a job to do’ because Grace and Phoebe did not. Other than that, Jasmine’s my least favourite of the Party Fairies so far. Her dropping her party bag into the prize bin genuinely pissed me off, it is probably the stupidest way a fairy has lost her item. She was also the third Party Fairy with little to no concern about whether or not she revealed herself to the human world.
In terms of Jasmine’s design, I like that they put her in turquoise (very Princess Jasmine of her). Perhaps the hairbow was one bow too many.

I will say though, I love that they chose to end the series with a block party instead of another birthday party. (I guess even parties for charity aren’t safe from Jack Frost and his goblins.) And all the different prizes technically being presents of a sort was kind of a good idea.

The funniest scene was the girls and Jasmine boxing up the goblin and shipping him back to Jack Frost. Other than that, this was a pretty underwhelming book.

This wrapped up the series, but it wasn't the strongest of the group. Admittedly, it might be difficult to come up with 7 different party scenarios to fit into a single week, but this didn't seem to fit with the rest. There is a street festival, but not much happens aside from the "lucky dip," which was unfamiliar to all of us. Eventually, we came to the conclusion that it must be a barrel of sawdust with presents hidden inside, but we felt pretty lost for a while. After that, it leaves the party scene entirely for the rest of the book. The cake scene near the end was a highlight, so it wrapped up on a strong note.

Third set in the fairy books. Rachel comes to stay with Kirsty in the village of Wetherbury again for a week. Jack Frost is locked up in his ice castle but determined to throw a bigger and better party than the suprise 1000th Jubilee for the Fairy King and Queen. His goblins are ruining parties all around Wetherbury to try and get their hands on the magical party bags that the Party Fairies have.

I’ve just finished reading this with my 6 year old daughter and already I’ve managed to forget most of what happens. My 6 year old was a bit surprised at how small the goblins are in this series of books, she’s used to them being child size in the later Rainbow Fairy books she’s read.
My daughter still loved the pretty dresses though.

Read an indefinite amount as a kid.

This was fun! And wow, brought back so many memories…

Secret word = SPARKLE :)

Magic party bags.

For those wondering, including myself…
= A jubilee is a celebration of the life and reign of a monarch. Rather than happening every year, Jubilees only mark significant milestones, making them more special.

Can’t wait to see where we go from here! :)

Jasmine the Present Fairy is the final book of The Party Fairies series of the Rainbow Magic books. In this series, Jack Frost is desperate to get the magic bags from the party fairies so he can throw himself the best party ever. But in the process he is ruining human parties while the party fairies are trying to plan for the King and Queen's jubilee! In this book, Rachel and Kirsty must held Jasmine the Present Fairy to make sure Jack Frost doesn't get her magic bag.

The Rainbow Magic books are perfect for young girls to introduce them to chapter books. Each story is short (5-10 minutes) with plenty of illustrations. The stories are adventurous and full of magic with special powers and abilities. Although every book follows the same type of story line, the variety in fairies and obstacles is enough to keep young girls interested as they are introduced to a new fairy in each book, hence the titles of the books.

Ideal for: young children aged 5-8 years old, especially girls.

Note: These books are best if read in the correct order.

The Rainbow Magic books are split into different series: the first series is The Rainbow Fairies, the second is The Weather Fairies, then The Party Fairies etc. It is best to read through the series in chronological order as characters and objects reappear in later series that readers won't understand without having read the earlier series first.

Additionally, it is best to read the books in each series in the correct order too as events from previous books are mentioned in later books. However, this isn't crucial. To make sure the series makes sense overall, it would be best to make sure you read the first book first and the last book last. All the books in between could be read in any order.

This is the last of seven books in the Rainbow Magic Party Fairies series by the group of authors who go by the pseudonym Daisy Meadows.

While the stories are basically the same and follow a simple formula, they are entertaining for young girls who are starting to read chapter books and I love that our oldest is just ripping through them.

We both read the books separately and talk about what happens. I'm not a huge fan of them, but each story only takes about 5-10 minutes to read. Our oldest is starting to read them very quickly, too, and she can read several of these stories in one day. I can hardly keep up with her!

I didn't think this was terribly good, but I enjoyed reading it to my daughter (who loved it). The plot was dismal. The writing was functional. The chapters are a convenient length for reading at bedtime.

This is the last fairy story in the party fairy series. I loved this book when I was younger. Now it is all just for 6 year olds and is a memory. This book was perfect for me when I was little. Now it is perfect for any other girl who is 7 or 8.

Rachel and Kristy had to find only one more sack of party dust for the party fairies.
Will they get it? At a street festival they found the magic bag of party dust, but sure their was a goblin after the magic dust bag to.

It was Jasmine's turn to get her magic party dust back.

A fun series as a child, however I grew out of them very quickly, and don't look back on them as my cup of tea as a child either, I was just excited to be able to read independently! Nevertheless, they are great for young kids, and my Mum read them with me to help me learn how to read.
