Crap! I gave up on this work within the first ten pages. Allegedly a book revealing some great insight about the English (and therefore Australian) legal system but it reads like the rant of that old man who sat next to you in the bar to tell you how lawyers had ruined his life. Much like being verbally assulted by that old man, all I wanted was to escape from the vitriol dribbling from this book. Made me a bit sad, really, because i used to be a fan of Whitton's work.

It was a great read learning the origins of where our most commonly known laws, like "The Right to Silence" where first created and why. Author complains this is not taught in law schools. Also comparing the major differences between the legal systems of Europe verses UK/Westminster. Author suggests Europe's legal system results in few innocence people ending up in jail/gaol because of the different laws and the courtroom processes. A must have book for your personal library.
