What if your best friend returns to town and helps you snag a date with the guy you’ve had a crush on since you were sixteen? That would be fabulous. Or would it?
Tara helps her brother run their family’s restaurant in Moonbeam. Not that their parents will ever let them change a single item on the menu or anything else. Her life is strikingly the same, day after day, year after year.
That is until Tara’s best friend, Joey, shows up at the restaurant when he returns for their twenty-five-year high school reunion. He works on helping her snag a date with Lance, a guy she’s had a crush on since she was sixteen.
Not that she’ll admit she’s still crushing on Lance. Not that Joey believes her protests.
Joey thinks Tara is too good for Lance. If only Tara would look at him, the way she looks at Lance…
A disastrous first date convinces Tara that Lance is out of her league. Joey wants to deck the guy. But nothing tops what happens at the actual reunion.
The book can be read as a standalone or pop back to book one, Memories of the Beach, and binge the series. From a USA Today bestselling author. Grab Restaurant on the Wharf and dive into this charming beach read.
Kay Correll is a USA Today bestselling author of sweet, heartwarming stories that are a cross between women’s fiction and contemporary romance. She is known for her charming small towns, quirky townsfolk, and the enduring strong friendships between the women in her books.
Kay splits her time between the Southwest coast of Florida and the Midwest of the U.S. and can often be found out and about with her camera, taking a myriad of photographs, often incorporating them into her book covers. When not lost in her writing or photography, she can be found spending time with her ever-supportive husband, knitting, or playing with her puppies - a cavalier who is too cute for his own good and a naughty but adorable Australian shepherd. Their five boys are all grown now and while she misses the rowdy boy-noise chaos, she is thoroughly enjoying her empty nest years.
This is another great read in the Blue Heron Series. I am really enjoying the characters in this book which takes place in Moonbeam ,Florida.
Tara's high school reunion is coming up and she can't decide of she wants to go but her brother Walker talks her into it. Her ex neighbor, friend and classmate, Joey, shows up early for the reunion and stays at the Blue Heron Cottages. He hasn't been back to Moonbeam in a couple of decades and has decided to come to the reunion and wants to reconnect with his friend Tara.
Joey shows up at the restaurant that Tara works at and her parents own. Joey lived next door to Tara and they were best friends and inseparable growing up. Tara is excited to see Joey and their friendship picks right back up as if no time has passed between them. Things are going great with Joey and Tara until an old crush, Lance shows up for the reunion. Tara had a huge crush on him in high school but he never asked her out. He evidently hasn't changed that much and is still good looking so Tara still gets butterflies when she sees him. She still has dreams of her teenage crush asking her out. When Tara and Joey run into a Lance, she gets her wish. Lance asks her to dinner! She can't believe it and is so excited. Joey is a bit hurt that she is still hung up on Lance. Do you think this date turns out as well as she has imagined? You will have to read to find out if things work out for Tara and Lance or if destiny has other plans.
In my opinion, this story is a bit unrealistic that she would still have a crush on someone after 20 years but overall, I loved the story.
It is a sweet, clean romance of finding expectant love and realizing people don't really change and they aren't exactly who you imagine they are.
If you love a clean romance with great characters, then you will love this series.
This is a lovely book. Many characters from prior books with a few new ones. A sweet story that makes you smile and glad that you have spent some time with friends. I recommend this series.

I really enjoy these stories by Kay Correll. I liked these characters and the plot of this book. Glad Tara woke up and smelled the roses, especially at her age!! I always thought they were younger but with the reunion and all, I was surprised at her being so naive. Looking forward to reading the next installment.
Tara has a best friend, Joey, from childhood days return for a reunion to find her high school crush, Lance, has also returned. A lot happens within the week they both are in Moonbeam for the reunion. Will Tara realize where her true love lies before it’s too late. Great fourth book in the Blue Heron Cottages series.
Wow! Just finished Restaurant on the Wharf. This book focused mostly on Tara. She is such a loving and caring person. I just love how characters from previous books in the series appear in each book. It keeps us updated what is happening in everyone's life. Tara's story was awesome. Kay, once again you never disappoint me.
I enjoyed this book but felt like there was quite a disconnect between Tara and reality. She seemed too old to be so crazy over a high school fascination with a boy and Lance was not her type at all. But I loved the friendship between her and Joey.
Another excellent book in the series. So good I couldn't put it down. Love the story line. As I read I can just vision this beautiful town and lovely cottages.
I feel a strong connection to the character Rose in all of the books. She lost her husband and returns to the cottages on the beach where they vacationed together for many years. She shares how she deals with the grief. Sharing her sadness and fond memories.
I’m hooked on this series and already looking forward to reading more by Kay Correll after this series finishes. Sweet, supportive characters, clean and happy romance all in stories that are quick to enjoy and hard to put down.
