In the beautiful armor Joseph Lequire has created for Moonsilver, no one can tell he is a unicorn. It's safe for Heart to travel to Bidenfast, where she hopes to find her Gypsy friends. But the streets are jammed with people in town for the crowning of the new Lord Irmaedith, and the young lord himself takes a special interest in the unicorns. Will Heart be able to keep her secret?
Kathleen Duey grew up in Colorado. She loved riding her horses, hiking, being in the mountains. Reading was always important to her. Writing became a fascination early in her life. In the fourth grade, Kathleen began writing stories and told everyone who would listen that she was going to be an author. Then she did nothing about it until she was 35 years old. Writing was her passion and her dream-come-true.

So far the series has been promising, but this entry seemed a little… convenient. Nothing really happened of consequence till the end of the story, and even then it felt like it was, in the terms of D&D, railroaded.
Overall, not bad but not great either. I would have preferred a little more challenge for Heart to overcome in this one.
These books build on each other. They won't make a lot of sense if read out of order, and the story continues with each book. I bought my granddaughter the books as a set. I think it's nice to be able to continue reading without having to wait for the next book to come out
Heart expands her literacy to unravel her legacy and continues the journey with her unicorns, of whom Moonsilver heals a particular noble with the touch of his horn and earns the trio a pivotal ally.
Heart is getting closer and closer to her family. She has now discovered that there is a Castle Avamir, but doesn't know where it is. She is trying to return to her family while protecting the unicorns from any harm.
True Heart is another tension-filled story about a young girl trying to find answers to the questions she has about herself and her family. It is an adventure story that keeps the reader highly involved as Heart struggles to journey to a home she doesn't know through strange and foreboding lands.
Heart is a wonderfully strong young girl that early chapter reads will be cheering for. The unicorns are good animals, but the story really is about Heart. Characters come and go in these books as Heart travels across the land searching for the land she came from. Her best friends are the Gypsies, but she isn't always with them.
Kathleen Duey has created another wonderful story that will keep early chapter readers coming back for more. The illustrations by Omar Rayyan are beautifully drawn and the cover art, which is the only illustration in color, is gorgeous.
Overall, True Heart is another excellent book in the Unicorn's Secret series. I cannot wait to see how the story continues in Castle Avamir. Oh . . . I hope Heart finds the castle. Maybe she find some answers to questions that have plagued her for long.
