A reference book for living a streamlined life with specific advice on how to make every aspect of your life run more smoothly. From health to money, work to relationships, this survival guide to modern life tells you how to use your time on the people and projects you love rather than chores and hassle.
I liked the idea of taking control and making sure that you deliberately choose how to have every aspect of your life, but to be honest I've done it all myself before reading this book. It's quite dull (but then did anyone expect an audit to be particularly interesting?) It would be good for people who want to have more control over what happens in their life, and who that makes them but don't know where to begin, because it provides a ready-made framework. I just don't like feeling that I'm doing a load of unnecessary paperwork because someone else has told me to.
a really interesting concept. because what is life made of if not time? i really like the way it puts a accountant spin on the whole self help idea. i tried to start it, i created all sorts of forms on google, but i'm actually pretty in charge of my life, i think, and so it didn't seem quite worth it. certainly recommended, though.
I performed the life audit that the author suggested. Holla! I discovered I was spending four hours a day preparing, eating, and cleaning up after dinner. This book is useful for getting a handle on your reality (taking stock). But the underlying values of the author were not a good fit for me. This book is not going to give you much guidance on creating the life you want--unless you want the same things she does.
Holy crap is this thing detailed and rigorous. If you're a Myers-Briggs J, here's your chance to J all the way out.
What I can't get past is why is it printed entirely in blue (with green for accents)??? Was the printer out of black ink? I used to do that when I ran out of black ink; never realized how distracting it was.
Picked up as reference for Beyond Fear but didn't use.
Some aspects were a little too detailed. I did enjoy keeping track of my time to see where I can make some changes. A lot of sections were skipped because they didn't apply to my current lifestyle. Highly recommend if you're the analytical type like me
