Chloe Brandeau, a magical chocolatier struggles to maintain normalcy in her world that suddenly turned upside down with the inheritance of her aunt's run down apartment building. When a friend insists that having a man in her life could help, Chloe goes on a series of outrageous dates. Along comes Ethan Behar, a master of acquisitions with no time for trivial pleasures such as chocolate. Ethan makes an offer for Chloe's building, but ends up bidding for the one thing not on the market -- Chloe's heart.
Zelda Benjamin is the author of the Love by Chocolate series. She writes sweet sassy romances. When not writing she spends her time traveling with family, baking, and of course eating cookies and chocolate.
Chocolate Magic by Zelda Benjamin is a fairly short read, a great choice for those with limited time for reading. Ms Benjamin has delivered a well-written book. Chloe and Ethan's story is loaded with drama and humor. The characters are fantastic and perfect for this story. This is a clean read, with no sex scenes, appropriate for any age. I enjoyed reading Chocolate Magic and would be happy to read more from Zelda Benjamin in the future.
Formulaic and predictable. The whole thing is frosting - no depth of characters, no depth of plot, no depth at all. A light fluffy, Disney princess (as in I barely know you, lets get married) romance. While I appreciate that it was clean...it wasn't a romance I really enjoyed. I would like to visit the chocolate shop though.
Chocolate Magic is such a cute and sweet story. I could not out it down. Enjoyed the characters a lot. Craved chocolate the whole time and wanted to experience the magic of her shop. Recommend to all friends
This is slightly over 2 but not as rich as the kinds of chocolate author Zelda Benjamin describes in her heroine, Chloe's store. While that's luxury chocolate, this is like those new aerated chocolate bars that look great on the outside but leave you empty.
A quick read (way to get those reading challenge numbers up!) that's a very staid, sanitized romance with nothing except a few kisses we're led to believe are steamy. It reminds me of the Harlequin romances my Gram used to read back in the day.
another fabulous chocolate book. in this book Chloe a magical chocolate master finds herself inheriting an old apartment building. When disaster after disaster happens in the old building she really doesn't know who to turn to. Her friend thinks she needs a man and helps her find just the right one. Along come Ethan the man behind wanting to demolish the old apartment building and their worlds turn upside down. You will love this book
So this girl is set up with Henry the Hot Dog; My Swifter, that drives a van with a big toilet bowel brush stick out on top; and a 6 foot Hershey Kiss that doesn't even like chocolate! Guess who she ends up with!? :-) P.S. Good thing these books are so short, because once I start a book, I can't seem to put it down until I finish it...
This was a cute book to read. Not much in the way of hot and spicy..cute is a much more accurate way to describe this book. I liked the characters and could picture myself as a bi-standard enjoying the unraveling relationship between Chloe and Ethan.
