My brother’s best friend used to bully me mercilessly. He made cruel fun of my voluptuous curves until I cracked. I hate him, but it’s difficult to avoid him in our small town. Especially when I’m suddenly forced to spend lots of alone time with him.
Our pack is in danger from the demon wolves, and we’re put on patrol duty in pairs. And guess who I got paired with? Exactly, him. He says he needs to protect me, but I don’t need his protection. He has no right after all he’s done. I can fight my own fights.
The biggest fight takes place inside of my head, though. I can’t stop thinking about that one night, when his fingers caressed my curves. I can’t stop thinking about the way his hands laid me bare and teased my shame. And when the pregnancy test comes back and shows two clear lines, I wonder…
How much longer until I give into the bully wolf?

Saying "Bully Wolf's Mate" has the same ~mouth feel~ as saying "Billy Goat's Gruff" and I feel like someone should have caught that in the editing process
When the bully doesn't know he's a bully, but he wins the girl anyway... #6 in the Silverdale Wolves series.
A satisfying shifter story. Slightly uneven occasionally, but mostly quite good. I was confused at the start with the idea of Demon Wolves. I haven't read other books in the series, which could have helped a little, but the story stands well enough on its own. Werewolves, witches, curses, and magic stones of power, nobel sacrifice, forgiveness, and respect, all woven together in an interesting mesh.
Amber is a traumatized young [demon] wolf shifter. She's lived through abuse, assault, and humiliation among a pack of demon wolves. [For reasons I missed, some wolves were cursed to hell, and part of the curse gives them greater strength and a fire in their fur that can burn others, even other demon wolves.] Amber is a weak wolf and the recipient of sexual and physical abuse from the Alpha and rest of the pack, minus her brother and his best friend. Yet even her brother and his best friend, Miles, abuse her verbally - an element I confess which continues to bother me. Time passes, and we find Amber, her brother, and Miles, in a normal pack with wolves and witches, having escaped the demon pack, in the knowledge that the demon Alpha is hunting them now. Amber is understandably unable to feel safe or wanted, and feeling all the suspicions of the new pack. Her brother has found a mate in a witch member of the pack, and is settling in better than the other two. Amber has been permanently paired with Miles for patrols of the packland borders, and eventually tensions flare between them sufficiently for true and harsh words to be shared... and our hero and heroine realize there was another perspective than the one they each had believed. There are awkward revelations that form a tipping point for Amber and Miles. How can they move forward? Will they find a way to fit into their new pack? Will their old Alpha remain a threat to them and their new pack? Her brother has lost patience with her acting out, but how will Amber overcome her traumas? The climax and ending are well done. I found Bully Wolf's Mate to be an enjoyable read.
I was provided a free advance copy to read. My review is voluntary and my own.
A short PNR about adapting to change and facing your giants. Amber and Miles has been bumping heads since childhood. What Amber thought was bullying; Miles thought he was simply teasing her the way boys tease girls all the time. Two don wolves trying to adjust to living amongst a new Pack.
Amber h8ted Miles with every fiber of her being. It wasn't until the two of them were paired together on patrol did they realize and succumb to their attraction.
It was a bumpy and challenging road but through h3llfire and water Amber and Mike's fought for their HEA.
I didn't even finish. I couldn't stand it. The male lead was a complete a$$wipe to her, they get into a fight rolling on the ground and end up having sex. She had every reason to hate his guts for his constant bullying her and reminding her of the position and "use" (read rape) she had to endure in her other pack. He did absolutely bupkis to redeem himself and the fact that she just sexed him up, just whoosh, like his crap treatment of her, reminding her that her brother never protected her from all the men who laid hands on her, and the fact that lots of men did lay hands on her even if it was against her will, no thanks gross. The jerk would be the last one I'd want to be intimate with so I couldn't enjoy the scene and I didn't like the characters.
Great read I haven't read the previous books in this series but really enjoyed this one as a standalone book. It starts in the past with Amber hating the way Miles, her brother's best friend, treats her. On moving to Silverdale they are both regarded with suspicion and made to work together in a patrol pair, to protect from their old pack of demon wolves. Amber still distrusts him and his motives; Miles is trying to prove he just wants to protect her (as she's his best friend's sister). Then on patrol they start fighting while shifted and their tumbles cause an unexpected shift in feelings. I loved the character building in this and the view that there are always two sides to a story.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC of this book.
After reading Bully Wolf’s Mate, I got the impression that Miles was not the only one bulling Amber before they landed in Silverdale. With that first sentence it is glaringly obvious that I should have started with book 1 in the series, there were just too many holes without the previous books.
I found Bully Wolf’s Mate interesting and will probably be updating this review in the future after reding the first 5 books in the series. There were some editing mishaps but again the story line was interest and even with those edits I am sure I will have a new rating when I revisit this book. Because none of the references to past events made sense, they left gaps and more questions.
Amber was insufferable. She was basically just petty rage personified. I didn’t even find any redemption. The bullying wasn’t even there unless you count how absolutely terrible Amber was to everyone in her pathway “family and loyalty” were so important, and yet, she wasn’t really giving either.
Even for a quick read, I wouldn’t recommend this one. There are strong heroines and then there is just toxic and mean heroines. That being said, I’ll still read more Mia Wolf as I liked some of her other novellas
This was crap. All of the characters are ahole morons. There's so much "snarling, growling", I don't know how anyone actually speaks. The H is annoying and aggressive, her brother is a DB the whole book, defending the ahole that bullied her, the bully supposedly treated her like crap bc he loves her? They all should have died in the ending " conflict" that was so easily won. I added another from this series to read later but an deleting it. Definitely won't be reading this author again.
I haven't read any of the other books. This was my first of the series. I could tell there was some more of the story to be said but it didn't ruin the book at all. Just made me more interested in picking up more of the others to read. I feel like everything moved really fast, but I liked that. It made the book different from the other types like this that I've read.
How do you even find the courage to go from day to day when abuse and bullying are all you can expect? Demon existence continues to plague the Silverdale community in this next book.
Great story, always surprises going on.Amber,Miles and Daemon finally get the life they always wanted only to be knocked back down by Travers again. Now part of the Silverdale pack they have the protection of two high witches.Read the book it's great.
First book to be read by the author Mia Wolf. I devoured this book in one sitting!! It was spoil good from beginning to end. I definitely plan to read the series now
There were a lot of typos, but you can still understand the story. It was a different type if shapeshifter book, but I really like it. The action was easy to follow.
The FMC, her brother, and the MMC all came from the same pack as kids/teens, and now they are still in together but have moved to a new pack together.
The FMC had been sexually harassed/assaulted/raped etc in the old pack. Her brother seemed to not care, and the MMC would slut shame her for "sleeping around."
They come to this new pack after saving FMC from some kidnapping plot in the previous book. The story just goes off the rails. MMC starts talking about how they had always been the 3 amigos growing up and FMC is just like "WTF are you even talking about?!" MMC switched from bullying to more like, "She's cute when she's mad so I'm just going to make her mad all the time." She gets so mad they end up hate fucking in the woods. It's just so weird.
So I would say this isn't a bully romance, because the bullies didn't realize they were bullying her? But I guess it's more accurate to say, this is a certain TYPE of bully romance where the bullies don't realize they are bullies. I guess I just don't like that type. It makes it easy to repair the relationship. Or puts pressure on the victim to forgive, since it wasn't intentional and they ReAlLy dO LiKe HeR!
