Three Mountain Dogs

Rate this book
Poco, Rosie, and Sophie are three lively dogs who live on the mountain, where they meet a befuddled bear, a funny wild turkey, a big orange snake, and a wind that mixes everything up. They help Farmer Ed mow the grass and Gardener Gwyn plant carrots-sort of. Patricia Prijatel tells their story in vivid colors, lively language, and her trademark humor. The book was inspired by three actual mountain dogs. Farmer Ed and Gardener Gwyn are Prijatel's brother and sister-in-law, who owned the dogs-sort of. The real Poco, Sophie, and Rosie have gone to the great doghouse in the sky, but they live on in this book. Patricia Prijatel has written books on magazine publishing and on breast cancer and countless magazine articles on health and home design. She has educated scores of journalists after two decades of teaching at Drake University. This is her first just-for-fun book, created in honor of her grandson's third birthday. Aimed at 2- to 6- year-olds.
