I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review, the author also provided me a chance to read the first installment Hunter’s Moon. I noticed a wonderful improvement in writing and editing from the first to second book which I was grateful for because the story did hook me from the first book.
Jax’s Retribution was a really interesting read. I am not usually a werewolf story fan, but the different, non romantic yet still somewhat romantic viewpoint of what a werewolf’s life would be like was great to read! I feel like the author could be British by use of some phrases (boot of the car) so I ignored some of what seemed like misspelling or wrong word use because I know the two dialects of English have different ways of describing things, but it did almost take me out of the story when reading.
I very much look forward to the next installment as the ending was a tad unsatisfying in how abrupt it was..

This second book is every bit as good as the first book and every bit as addictive! An action packed werewolf read filled with twists and turns to keep you guessing and so many ups and downs and surprises. The world building continues to draw you in as we follow Jax and his friends on their interesting and intriguing journey and I find myself looking forward to reading more.

I received this book as an arc and the author provided book 1 The hunter’s moon to gather an understanding of what was happening. It ok. A little confusing. It has up and downs. A group of friends band together to help other victims of the mountain massacre that causes them to loose Lupe and Noah the main characters from the first book. Jax retribution is just that he was changed in the event of the massacre and his close friends from childhood and work friends help him put down werewolves that can’t control there impulses and they band together and add couple of followers on there way to the wilderness of Canada until they can learn to control there impulses around there loved ones. The power of friends to help you through the toughest times. Will they succeed? Or will death and destruction follow them? Read to find out.

Once again Vanessa has me shaking in my boots over these books I swear to god I love these books so much I wanna frame them. This was such a entertaining book which I once again read until I finished and did not move from my chair, Jax retribution is basically about getting to know Jax and his life and he ends up turning into a werewolf himself, and builds a camp amongst friends trying to find out how this werewolf business started they end up being okay for awhile but it got stressful because there’s werewolf’s who can’t control their hunger at times and humans who can’t or won’t get away, then something happens which makes Jax terribly sad and sorry.

This books was still very good but the first book was hard to beat I love how she wrote about Jax after how the first book ended! I just wish Jax had a little bit of a better story to what really he was going through when he first transitioned I feel like when it kept switching characters I didn’t get a lot of him and would if loved If it was mainly his point of view!

Like the first book it was a different type of werewolves story it starts off where one ends. This just Jax story and hid awakening and trying to be better then the last pack. He cares to much and come their leader. I think there will be a book 3 can't wait to see what happens next.

Even better than the 1st! I read this whole book in 1 day! VJ knocked this out of the park. This book is everything you could want all wrapped into 1. Romance, horror, action, drama, suspense... VJ nailed every single element. Can't wait for the 3rd installment!

1.5 stars what was this sequel? All the good characters from the first book died and too many new characters were introduced and I cared for none of them. Plus literally nothing happened and the begging was confusing asf.
