The author explained the over-under of the Celtic patterns and illustrated a large number of patterns. On reading the design details, I did find the book gave me the background knowledge for the quilt border design that I am working on.

A neat how-to if you want to learn how to draw Celtic knots. It has good step-by-step parts as well as examples of different ways the knot designs might be used as a starting point for a more complex design.
