Celtic Iron-on Transfer Patterns

Rate this book
In this treasury of richly imaginative design elements, British artist Courtney Davis, one of today's leading interpreters of Celtic art, has transformed an eye-filling collection of Celtic designs into 65 easy-to-use iron-on transfer patterns, any one of which will provide a perfect starting point for your next craft project.
The patterns range from simple, elegant Celtic fretwork to elaborate intertwined borders and wreaths, and there are wonderful motifs imaginatively incorporating animals, plants, and other favorite Celtic subjects. Following the simple instructions included, you can easily apply these beautiful designs to any flat surface that absorbs ink — paper, fabric, wood, and more — to produce a design outline that will assure successful completion of your next venture into embroidery, fabric painting, appliqué, wood burning, and other crafts.

I needed the help of a lady-engineer to make out the separate animal figures and then embroidered no. 15 as a favor, the token you give to a special person when they go to battle.

This is not a book to read, but I did want to recommend it as an excellent resource for people who don't find drawing or tracing their own patterns on their costumes (napkins, etc.) for embroidery.
