I grew up in Western Pennsylvania and have lived or traveled in 40 of the 50 US states. Bucket List! I've been writing since elementary school, but in college, my aunt sent me a box of books, including Kathleen Woodiwiss' The Flame and The Flower. I caught Romance fever and never looked back. I write sweet and inspirational romances, both contemporary and historical. I'm also writing book reviews for All About Romance. My specialty is sweet and inspirational romance, of course! I'm a fan of ocean beaches, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, sea turtles and a well-written romance with a happy ending.
The most repeated advice I got from other writers was to write what you know and write what you love to read. So my approach is to consider the story I want to tell, and choose the best way to tell it. My writing style has been described as “a whole lot of sweet with a dash of spice”. I like to keep a sense of the Divine Presence in everything I write. I’ll always be honest with you. I add a Content Rating to each of my book descriptions, so it’s clear what to expect.
So here’s this nomad librarian romance addict-writer dog and turtle person, who’s delighted that you’re here. I’m on a journey of writing, enjoying all that romance offers, and letting my curiosity have free rein.
I received this book as a First Reads giveaway through Goodreads. When I received the book, I was surprised about how many pages it has and was eager to start it. In this book we meet Hayley, who receives a new job as a Information Specialist at Mansfield, Inc. She is doing a dirty job of filing brochures and papers in a messy file room when a gorgeous man appears asking all these questions. She is taken aback by this man since he is breathtakingly handsome, but doesn't understand all of his questions. She fires back at him and asks him who he is. He introduces himself as Joshua from accounting. Later, Hayley finds out that "Joshua" is actually Mr. J. David Mansfield, her boss and owner of the company! Hayley is surprised and a little embarrassed how she treated her boss and is even more surprised when he asks her to write a proposal for a project he wants.
I liked the development of this book, especially how the author continues with the story without a lot of backstory. Many times stories go through a lull just learning about the characters. However in this story, we learn about the characters and, their background throughout the story which makes it so interesting and intriguing. The author really makes you want to continue reading the story! I like the relationship between Hayley and David. It's complicated, but you find out why after learning David's background. I liked the addition about business and writing proposals. I don't know much considering I work in the education field. My only issue with this book is the ending. I wanted more! I wanted to know how their relationship would have turned out. Would David's background still have been an issue to a happy and healthy relationship? Did or would they get married? Did Hayley go back to that job? Although I thoroughly enjoyed the book, it left me wanting to learn more about David and Hayley. I would recommend this book to a friend, relative or colleague.
