People losing weight when nothing else worked, new energy and increased body temperatures from those suffering from hypothyroidism, skin rashes and other problems clearing these are a few examples of the testimonies from people using Virgin Coconut Oil that you will read about in this book. The book contains over 100 testimonies to the healing properties of Virgin Coconut Oil, and also contains over 85 recipes showing you how to incorporate Virgin Coconut Oil into your diet. Virgin Coconut How it has changed people's lives, and how it can change yours! is the most practical book written on the health benefits of coconut oil. Based on years of research and the experience of Brian and Marianita Shilhavy, this book documents how tropical cultures eating a diet high in the saturated fat of coconut oil enjoy long healthy lives. It also shows how a premium Virgin Coconut Oil has changed thousands of lives outside the tropics, in helping with obesity, hypothyroidism, diabetes, Candida, infections, digestive disorders, skin problems, and more.
I have been having a memory issue for a while now. I draw a blank with recall on even simple things. So I began to research what I could do that would help.
My research lead me to the benefits that taking coconut oil has help with memory recall and even improving Alzheimer.
Then I came across this book and according to this book coconut oil has more health benefits including eliminating toxins in the body, weight loss, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, Crohn's disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other digestive disorders It will also help the body to fight off yeast infections and Candida, it helps improve the bodies natural immune system and many more health benefits.
It also lays the blame on America's problems with obesity, high blood pressure and heart disease on it's change from using natural animal fat and dairy products like butter to liquid vegetable oils like soy, corn cottonseed and safflower. They are loaded with trans fatty acids and they take the body a long time to burn which means they end up stored in the body as fat instead of being used as energy. It says that farmers have long known that to make their cattle fat with fatty meat they feed them vegetable oil products but to make their meat lean and less fatty they feed them animal products. This is all news to me but this book was convincing enough that I'm giving it a try and my first order of coconut oil came today so I hope I notice the benefits really quick : ) It says that I will!
For a person who is new to coconut oil, he or she may find this read to be an interesting introduction to the supporting community behind virgin coconut oil.
While I support the value of coconut oil in cookery and in health, I found this book to be too dense. A few far reaching claims and personal biased statements are peppered throughout the book, along with all kinds of references to pro-coconut oil research studies. If you are already aware of the many of health benefits of coconut oil, I would not recommend this book.
Note: there is no industry standard for labeling virgin or extra virgin coconut oil.
Modern miracle or 21st century snake oil? Like other readers, I received this book for free with my first order of coconut oil from Tropical Traditions. Written by the company's CEO, one of the book's main purposes is to keep you buying their products. That being said, the testimonials from satisfied customers (all suffering from a wide variety of ailments) and some of rationale presented on the benefits of coconut oil are intriguing (and maybe kooky) enough to inspire me to give it a try. I'm interested to what happens.
Lots of anecdotes. Some like that, some don't. They have their place. There are references to studies; I didn't check them out. The scientific explanations within the book are unsatisfying if you want any substance at all. Right now I feel the urge to re-take organic chemistry so I can make some sense of this claims here. And of course this is a marketing product... not to invalidate it as a whole, just something to keep in mind. Overall pretty interesting and easy to read.
Discussed the nutritional value of coconut oil, long thought to be a no-no saturated fat. Don't know that all the claims in the book are true, but I've started including it in my smoothies.
This book is written by the owners of Tropical Traditions coconut oil company, and it clearly uses this book to sell their products. Informative, but annoying.
We got this book for free when we ordered our coconut oil. It makes some pretty outlandish claims but we are including coconut oil in our diet now. So we'll see if any of them come true!
