Rosalie: I have three weeks in Italy to write an article that will hopefully earn me my dream job at Foodie magazine in New York City. Getting this job is what my father and I used to fantasize about during our dinner dates all those years ago. There’s only one problem though… Matteo is everything I never knew I wanted. His piercing eyes see through every wall I’ve ever built. I know I’m in trouble when I start to see a side of Matteo I’m pretty sure is reserved only for me. My resolve withers away as his tough exterior crumbles. How will I ever walk away?
Matteo: I have one goal. Convince my dad to open a second restaurant. It’s time I put my own spin on the family business. We need to modernize and expand if we want to survive in the Eden Valley. We deserve to find happiness after all the hell my mom put us through when I was younger. When Rosalie gives me the opportunity of a lifetime by featuring our restaurant to readers around the world, I can’t refuse. I know I shouldn’t get involved with her, but her touch breaks through the armor I’ve spent my entire life building. Rosalie is a distraction I can’t afford, but one I may have a hard time letting go.
Authors Note: Bella Rosa is a dual POV contemporary romance and the first complete stand alone in The Eden Valley Series. This book contains adult language and sexual content. Characters discuss the death of a parent, past trauma, and substance abuse, however they occur off the page.
Katie B. Wright is a contemporary romance author who lives in Tennessee. When she's not writing, she loves checking off books from her mile long TBR list, gaming, and spending time with her husband.
This book had me looking at flights to Italy! I loved this book. I saw it on insta and decided to download it on KU and I absolutely loved the picturesque wanderlust it gave me.
She’s an American food writer and he’s an Italian chef trying to bring changes to the family restaurant so when he sees the beautiful girl again in his restaurant that’s writing a food article, he gives her a table and volunteers himself to help her explore food around Italy for 2 weeks but the more time they spend together it’s getting harder to say goodbye. I thought it was so cute reading about them explore the food scene in Italy, having cute dates and experiences. Mateo comes off as grumpy at first but he’s thoughtful, sweet, caring and romantic. Rosalie was such a sweet character too. The way she saw herself moving to Italy and could see herself finding her friends and family after two weeks. It has Dual POV, low drama, but Ugh so steamy and cute and the ending was cutest??? I loved it I can’t wait to read more on this series.
Bella Rosa is one of those hard to put down books. I loved it so much.
Rosalie and Matteo had me glued. I instantly felt their chemistry from the first meeting and I was here for it.
He was clearly playing hard to get while she was practically chasing him down. Okay, that’s a little dramatised and not what technically happened but that’s what I’m sticking with. Of course you also have Luca, who is laughing at his friend trying to escape the poor lost American girl.
She visits Eden Valley to experience to culture, the food and write her very first article for a popular magazine called Foodie.
He is a restaurant owner and chef. Food is what he knows, some may even say it’s his specialty.
I absolutely loved their journey. I really enjoyed how he assists her with her list of places to go and try their food and how encourages her. But also how she encourages him to go after his dreams and helps him to enjoy life. Don’t even get me started on their banter, it was solid and I was smiling.
They both have their own trauma of losing a parent in some way that has caused them both to close off a little but how can you fight fate? Here’s a hint: you can’t. But my goodness, do they try.
They both weren’t looking to fall in love with not just each other but life. Together these two found that life is better when you have someone to share food with.
I also was here for the side character. Alda and Juli were amazing. Alda is like the aunt you never knew you needed and Juli is the best friend everyone wants. They both push you for the better and lift you back up when you fall. Luca was also a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see if he gets his own book.
Oh and Rosalie’s inner thoughts are so quirky. They definitely had me laughing at her internal monologue and struggles. In the beginning of the book I thought it was just because this is a debut book but then I quickly realised that nope, that’s just the character. It’s so fun.
Bella Rosa is a debut book from a new to me author Katie B. Wright. It’s well written and such an easy enjoyable read. I can’t recommend it enough but, fair warning: you may get hungry with all the amazing dishes and pastries that are tried.
When I was reading this book, It was literally playing like a movie in my head and it’s not often a book does that for me.
I’ve never felt so strongly about specific words in a book that I needed to highlight them or even share them with people around me. But honestly, “I would rather eat gelato with soy sauce” is going to become a part of my every day vocabulary with how epic of a line it was.
Rosalie and Matteo were such sweet characters that you fell in love with them immediately. I loved that they didn’t waste any time with a back and forth of will they won’t they. The fire between them was evident immediately to anyone around them.
I will say that I was holding my breath for the entire second half of the book as I thought the cute self defense lessons were going to be foreshadowing for something big. I focused so much on that that I was completely blindsided by Lorenzo’s accident.
After reading Bella Rosa, I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Rosalie is on traveling for her first assignment that could lead to her dream job. She arrives in Italy and is a little bit lost...enter a handsome, but grumpy man who barely looks at her or speaks.
Matteo doesn't have time for distractions and this traveler...Rosalie would be a distraction. Even if he can't stop thinking about it.
Fate has plans for these two. The next thing Matteo knows he is offering to help Rosalie discover everything Eden Valley has to offer. Their connection is undeniable and you are holding your breath waiting to see if they will give into their feelings.
Both Rosalie and Matteo have past experiences that are holding them back...which makes it difficult for them to truly open up.
If you liked the movies Eat, Pray, Love, Under the Tuscan Sun, and even Letters to Juliet that's the vibe I get but sprinkled with some fantastic spice!
I really loved this book, more than I anticipated. It’s sweet, spicy (tons of open door scenes that make you swoon. Matteo is the king of praise and dirty talk), a bit of a fast burn but that’s what you get when it’s a 3 week timeline.
I was hooked from the beginning, but I did have to get used to the writing style. Some chapters had two POV which I felt was odd but nonetheless it didn’t distract from the plot. I loved how since FMC is a foodie and blogs/writes reviews about restaurants we were able to see that insight. I do wish there were some scenes that were longer in detail with more show instead of tell, when it came to cooking and tasting the foods. I couldn’t find myself drawn inside those scenes, but the rest of the book I felt like I was right there.
I absolutely loved the side characters! Julie helped Rosa so much and it felt like I was there whenever she was present in the book. ALSO THE ENDING? We love when we can understand the title meaning. I squealed when I realized what Bella Rosa meant 🫠🥹
If you’re looking for spice, Italy tours and vibes, yummy Italian foods, and insta lust/fast burn then this book is for you!!
Bella Rosa is Katie's debut novel and the first in the Eden Valley series. Follow the story of Matteo, an Italian chef and restaurant owner, and Rosalie, an American editor and aspiring writer for Foodie magazine.
This book was light, sweet, and fluffy, just like the Italian pastries described within its pages. It's a shorter read and the love connection is pretty instant. If you enjoy low-angst love, this is the book for you. I especially enjoyed the Italian scenery and food. Matteo and Rosalie were both fairly likable characters, each with their own passions and interests. The side characters Juli, Alda, Luca, and Lorenzo were adorable and added some depth to the story.
Congratulations Katie for setting out to write your first book and doing the damn thing! You have a lot to be proud of with this sweet story. Thanks for the opportunity to read an early copy!
"Don't worry. Our hearts are like a compass. They have a way of pointing us in the right direction. When you feel that pull, you'll know what you should do."
Picturesque Italian land and seascapes, the magic of food, and meeting the right people at the right time.
What a beautiful and delicious debut by Katie B. Wright! I truly felt like I was there in Italy them; I could almost taste the food. The food!! 🤤
I loved getting to know Rosalie and Matteo. I was giddy right along with them from the time they met. 😍 I equally loved all the side characters! Such a fun cast.
If you're looking for a feel-good book to transport you for a little while, give this one a try! I already can't wait until I get to visit Eden Valley again. 🧡
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book from Katie. This was a really cute story. It made me think of a Hallmark movie. I loved watching Rosalie and Matteo navigate their growing feelings for each other. And watching Rosalie find her voice and her true passions. I could vividly see the pictures that Rosalie was taking while I was reading. I’m looking forward to reading more about Eden Valley.

As for a debut novel, Katie did a commendable job in writing such a feel good book. The name Bella Rosa is so well suited for the story❣️ Matteo and Rosalie are the epitome of a very beautiful and healthy relationship. The tension between them is so evident since the moment they met. This book navigates the life of Rosalie aka Rosa as she takes on the job of a food reviewer in Italy. And falling in love with a chef? It's just *chef's kisses*. Maybe she didn't plan it, but the fact about love is that it's inevitable. And also, who doesn't love a possessive hero?😉 I love this story from the beginning to the end!! I am a sucker for Italy and Italian guys. And Matteo just exceeded my expectations. Really. One of the best parts was the food!! Since I'm such a big foodie, the amount of food descriptions and mentions in the book made my mouth water🤤 The vivid Italian landscapes paired with the magical taste of food added to the stunning-ness of the book. Another thing I really liked about Bella Rosa, is the mention and use of music throughout the entire course of the story. As a music lover, I enjoyed it so much!! The way Rosa and Matteo's relationship has built amidst the beauty of Italy and their close friends, is so nice to read about. This story made me feel so many things all at once~ giddy, excited, butterflies. A definitely swoon-worthy story it is. This book is fast-paced, refreshing and absolutely a vacation read!! PS: Bella Rosa made me want to go to Italy for a vacation and find my Matteo so badly😩
🌼Bella Rosa ARC review(No spoilers)🌼 Rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Spice- 🔥🔥/5
Okay, so you know that feeling you get when you read a book for the first time and it immediately captures your heart? That was the scenario with Bella Rosa💖😩. This book was a rollercoaster ride of ups and down, and how, despite those ups and downs, Matteo and Rosa stuck together🤍 I cried, I laughed, I blushed, I giggled...i LIVED this book🌷
Coming from different backgrounds, yet being SO similar, I loved how this book showed the contrast and similarities of the two main characters, Matteo and Rosa, in such a mesmerizing way✨😻
As a reader, having fun side characters in a book automatically makes the book much, MUCH better. Be it Josh/Jules in Twisted Love or Kenji from Shatter me🤌🏻 This book had one of the most amazing, hilarious side characters I couldn't possibly love more🤝🏻😂
As for the main characters, I love how the author was able to maintain a balance of intensity and humour in the romance (which, I believe is quite rare and difficult to achieve). One thing I promise you readers: During the whole time you guys read this book, you'll have a huge smile on your face 🤭🤞🏻
Overall, this book was filled with swooooon-worthy characters, gut-wrenching emotions, and, above all that, unconditional love💞
P.S. - The cover is soo pretty! Like, this is one of my favourite shades now!
(((Message to my female readers - Matteo is REALLY hot🔥🥵 And that intense gaze is just 🛐🛐)))
Rosalie is a food writer who is given an assignment in Italy that may land her a dream job. She gets to spend three weeks soaking in the cuisine and submit an article to the popular magazine she works for. When arriving in Italy, she meets Matteo at a train station, but thinks she’ll never see him again. She is surprised when she bumps into him at one of the restaurants she visits, and learns he is the head chef and co-owner.
Matteo is immediately smitten with Rosalie, who he nickname Rosa in reference to the way she blushes when she looks at him. He is focused on convincing his father to open a second restaurant, and doesn’t want the complication of a relationship. But he can’t seem to stop himself from spending as much time as possible with Rosa while she’s in town.
This book had my attention from the beginning. It was a light easy read, even though there were heavy topics mentioned. We get a lot of backstory of the two main characters, and I found them both to be very relatable and well written. I also enjoyed the side characters and thought I got to know them with just enough detail. I felt like the author gave beautiful descriptions of the surroundings and the food, as well! Overall I thought this book read much like a romance movie. It gave me all the warm fuzzies!

First off I was honoured to be given an E-ARC of "Bella Rosa" in exchange for an honest review.
Okay now to the book!!!!!! Bella Rosa was beautifully written and definitely written for me (well we'll just pretend it was lol) This book is for the foodies at heart and the hopeless romantics. It was sweet, beautiful, and delicious! Rosalie is on a work trip in Italy trying to earn her position at "Foodie Magazine" when she stumbles (quite literally) into Matteo aka owner/chef of Moretti Restaurante. Food and feelings go hand in hand and of course the gorgeous scenery of Italia. What more could you ask for???!!! Katie made me feel like I was in Italy, from the description of the cobblestone roads to the smells of the restaurants. Add in a splash of romance and you literally have the perfect recipe. I really enjoyed reading about Matteo and Rosa and how their relationship formed. I do wish there was a little bit of angst or more drama in the book but other than that it was such a breath of fresh air! Definitely give this book a shot and take that trip to Italy!
Have you ever traveled to another country only to get there and never want to leave?! Well this is that book. I’ve been fortunate to travel a lot in my lifetime. And there are so many places that I’ve visited that I thought, “I never want to leave this place.” But, the big difference for me, was when I visited those places, there was no Matteo. 🤣
Seriously. This book was so, so sweet! And, as someone who loves food, the book made me hungry! The story follows Rosalie as she travels to Italy to write an article for Foodie Magazine. Lucky for her, she meets Matteo who offers to take her to all the best restaurants in exchange for her highlighting his restaurant in the article. Strictly business, right? Wrong! These two can’t stop the are cooking up in the kitchen!
Here’s what I loved: 🍝 The Italian scenery 🍝 The food 🍝 Dual POV 🍝 He falls first 🍝 NO 3rd act break up 🙌🏼 🍝 The side characters (can Juli get her own book?! 🤞🏼) 🍝 grumpy/sunshine 🍝 Strangers to friends to lovers
Thank you Katie for this ARC! I LOVED it!
If you are looking to get away to Italy this spring, this is your chance! Download this on March 1st to get away!
𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 𝑺𝒑𝒊𝒄𝒆: 🌶️🌶️ 𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒆: March 1st ARC REVIEW
If you haven’t been to Italy and you read this book…it will feel like you are there! Rosalie is off to prove she can be the best food author for a FOODIE magazine. She just so happens to meeting Matteo who owns a restaurant in Italy. He offers to take her to all the best restaurants. It is just a “friendship” arrangement, except you can feel the sparks flying! Rosalie knows shes only there for 3 weeks and can't get involved. Matteo has a lot on his plate and is adamant he does not have time for a female companion. However, will the pull between the two persist enough to overcome these challenges?
This books takes you on a wild adventure through a little town in Italy. Your stomach will be dying for some Italian while your heart will be wanting to know if there is a HEA! A great book to enjoy on March 1st!
Wow. I felt Katie’s heart and passion in every page. She poured love and vibrancy into every word. She painted such a vivid and beautiful picture with all of the descriptions…you feel like you’re walking alongside these characters. And speaking of characters…UGH. I want them to be my real friends. Rosalie and Matteo have an undeniable connection and chemistry, you’re rooting for their HEA from the first time they meet. The perfect grumpy/sunshine combination. You can feel their passion, both for their occupations and for each other. I love it! This was such a feel good read, it truly felt like a warm embrace. I swooned, I laughed, cried. Thank you for the ARC Katie! I can’t wait for Book 2!
😍. I was lucky enough to be selected to get an arc copy of this book. I felt like I knew the characters, and their story was so brilliantly brought to life in this book. I loved how each character had their own struggles but that they were so connected. The story was captivating, with a little bit of spice, and it came together so beautifully. A beautiful love story, and the cutest surprise at the end, that just tied the whole book together & made it even more amazing. Matteo was such a gentleman, and did everything to make sure Rosalie knew just how special she was, & it constantly made my heart melt. I can’t wait for this to be released for you all to get a chance to read it!! Releasing on March 1, 2023!❤️❤️❤️
As someone who has been to Italy and loves romance, the setting and theme of the book is initially what jumped out to me. I really enjoyed that this book featured a dual pov with the major characters, Rosalie and Matteo. In doing this, the author Katie was able to allow the reader to see both sides of their developing steamy relationship.
The relationship between Rosalie and Matteo does move pretty quickly. I found myself wishing it was more drawn out so that it had more time to develop. For this personal preference, I subtracted one star from my review.
This book is definitely a quick read once you get started. I think this would be a great book for you to read while on vacation somewhere.
this book was cute. i liked the storyline. i liked that rosa was a food photographer and matteo was a chef. i liked that it took place in italy. the location descriptions made me feel like i was there too. but i didn’t especially love this book. it wasn’t bad, i just feel somewhat neutral toward it. it was extremely fast-paced and i didn’t really feel a connection to any of the characters, nor did i really feel the chemistry between rosa and matteo. i also just wasn’t a huge fan of the writing style…too many exclamation marks. overall, it was cute though. it just wasn’t necessarily for me.
This story was adorable. It’s one of those that’s just perfect as a light hearted break between high stakes books (if that’s you’re thing) I suddenly want to drive around a small town on a Vespa 🛵 and make gelato 😋 I loved Rosalie’s fast friendship with Juli and that instant attraction between the two main characters where they try to fight it, very unsuccessfully 😏 Matteo pushes Rosalie to pursue her dreams and I love that. That’s how a relationship should be. You push and support each other to be the best that they can be.
I’m excited to see how this author’s writing progresses and to read the next book in this series!
So I got to pg 5 last night & fell asleep. This morning I perked my coffee & sat down at my kitchen table & started to read. Oh girl, what a wonderful surprise it was!! I wasn't expecting much being your first, but I just couldn't put it down until I finished it!! My favorite author is Christine Feehan & J.R. Ward . I have a love for shifters, vamps & hot wolf guys. lol... Your story had just enough sex-y in it without being overdone & the ending kept me on edge. I just loved the whole story!! I felt as if I was in Italy & loved all the characters. Can't wait for the next one!! Matteo & Rosalie!!
This book made me want to get on a plane to Italy ASAP! I loved Rosalie and Matteo from the first page. I loved their meet cute! All of the people in the town were so adorable and fun too. The connection between the two of them was instant, and I'm happy that they didn't waste any time getting together.
I was confused about the focus on self-defense, and I kept waiting for that to come into play. It never happened, so I was constantly on edge worrying that something was going to happen.
Okay, I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did! I loved how Matteo and Rosalie met and how he sort of didn't like her at first but realized shortly after that he really did. Another thing I really enjoyed was whenever Rosa had thoughts or reminders about her dad Matteo never judged her he was there to hold her when she needed him most. Juli, Luca, Lorenzo and Alda were some of the most fun side characters, who I never expected to see. I can't wait to see more of these people!!!
this book brought a smile on my face. it was sweet and fun to read especially when i want to travel and have my own blog. the characters were so sweet and i loved how they got to know each other.
the writing was so smooth and it made the whole experience so much better. the ending was exactly how i wanted it.
this is a really great book, and if you want a short, sweet romance then bella rosa is your choice.
If you’re looking for an escape to Italy and a swoony (and spicy) romance, I highly recommend Bella Rosa!
Rosalie and Matteo have a whirlwind romance. I love their shared connection over their close relationships with their fathers. I also love how Rosalie became friends so quickly with so many people she met during her travels. The description of Italy made me want to go visit and try all the amazing food!
I love to travel and this sweet and steamy book took me right to Italy. Katie B. Wright brings the Italian scenery to life and will make you hungry will all the talk of handsome Italian men and foods! This book has grumpy/sunshine vibes, dual POV, lots of sweetness between Matteo and Rosalie, and also plenty of steamy scenes. It's perfect if you are looking for a light-hearted, low-drama romance with no 3rd act breakup.
